I couldn't care less if he has Father Christmas and the Easter bunny working for him. And I'm pretty sure the owners of the pets still alive thanks to his knowledge and expertise couldn't either.

But people should care who are looking after their pets. If you are paying for specialist treatment then they should get specialists treating them. The general public are very quick to jump on the "Oh he's so amazing bandwagon" but all I am saying is do a bit of research and he isn't actually all that.

I won't be coming back to this thread.

Why should he get an MBE? Because he made a TV show about how brilliant he is? There are hundreds of brilliant vets out there who have specialist qualifications and do amazing things everyday.

Totally agree with the above - there are also many general vets too who are amazing and give their time and knowledge for free.

Please tell us where these hundreds of vets are that give there time and knowledge for free.

We can them all use them to keep our vet bills down.

I love how people start a debate, then get offended and spit the dummy when people don't agree with them. Dramatically declaring they're done with the thread! You not being a fan doesn't change the fact that the work he does is excellent and saves lives.

You're clearly missing my point. The man obviously knows what he is doing. As such, and this would be the same with any vet I trusted, I would trust that they had picked their team based on their ability and expertise. So should that team consist of Father Christmas and the Easter bunny. If have faith that they were good at their chosen job. Because I'd assume he wouldn't have hired them otherwise. This would be my way of thinking with any vet I opted to trust with my pets health.

He is an amazing vet. That doesn't mean there are no other vets as/even more amazing. If simply means what it means. He is an amazing vet. And if you think anyone who genuinely cares for their pets wouldn't research the crap out of anyone they put trust in to care for their animals then you underestimate the vast majority of pet owners.

But non of that changes the fact that Noël is an amazing vet.

Sorry, where did I say hundreds??

I said many but I wouldn't be surprised if it did run into hundreds. Do you honestly think that all salaried vets do their 35-40 hour week? Not in the practice I use they don't, they are often working long after their finish time or after the practice is closed. My vet has also done an extra (quite complex) procedure at no extra cost on my dog while under GA for something else and spent many an hour on the phone to me after hours - and I'm not exaggerating.
I don't believe for one minute that my vet is the only one that does this.

Edit - the quotes are not coming up in the message properly, if any reader is getting confused please see my previous post.

If my dog needed the skill of Noel Fitzpatrick I wouldn't give anyone else a second thought. Don't we all want what's best for our furies? Seeing dogs walking on prosthetic feet is truly amazing, that bloke has made it possible. How can you berate that.

    As for unsung Vets
I will start the ball rolling then. I nominate our Vet Steve Arundel as a super hero. His bedside manor with his patients has to be seen to be believed. He doesn't over charge, and he is the most caring person you could wish to meet.
He goes the extra mile for everyone, and is what I call an old fashioned Vet, but he isn't old lol. I wish we could clone him. They open 7 days a week and there is always a Vet on hand for night duties. Couldn't ask for more.
Three cheers for Steve Arundel, and his team. Anyone in or around Doncaster looking for a Vet please give him a try you wont be sorry.
PS I am not related to this Vet, we just take our furies there, we wouldn't go anywhere else.
RIP TJ. You my be gone, but never forgotten. Always in our hearts xxx
He is your friend, your partner, your defender, your dog.
You are his life, his love, his leader.
He will be yours, faithful and true, to the last beat of his heart.
You owe it to him to be worthy of such devotion.

I posted as Zara's both hips were done at FR by Noel Fitzpatrick himself so I met him in person, seen info about the series and posted here - not to start a fight between people... jesssss, seriously?

I know of several other people who's dogs/cats were looked after at FR.

I do not know any other referral vets to comment - I posted about the one I have met/had my dog operated on by.

    Chill out everyone...
