In our new home, we're on a meter and our bill has shot up to about £650 a year. We're now in Essex and have two water suppliers - Essex and Suffolk, and Anglian Water.
These are our suppliers too. The £650 doesn't sound awful for 4 of you. Our DD are £19 pm for E and S and £22 pm to Anglian which works out at nearly £500 for the year. IIRC Anglian supply the sewerage and E and S the water. We are fairly careful, don't leave tap running when cleaning teeth, have a d/w, duel flush WC's, shower rather than have baths. Do water the plants in the summer sometimes though. Between December 13 and August 14 we used 78 cubic metres.
Do you have an old washing machine that uses a lot of water? It is a good idea to be alone in a garden at dawn or dark so that all its shy presences may haunt you and possess you in a reverie of suspended thought.
