Petrol Stations Christmas Day

This is going to seem a really silly question but I honestly don't know

I'm travelling from Birmingham to Inverness late Christmas Eve early Christmas Day morning but I'm not sure if the petrol stations are open on Christmas Day

I normally top up at the Tesco just by Carlisle but have no idea if it will be open

Does any one know of any that are open or shall i just give up the idea now and put up with my MIL for Christmas rather than travelling to my mums?

  • There's usually a fair few open - might Tesco's website tell you if they're open?

You could always email Tesco CS and ask they can check past years and tell you.
I started with nothing and I am proud to say I still have most of it left.
  • In my experience all the motorway services are and a fair few local garages, plenty of people drive to visit relatives etc on Christmas day.

  • I've travelled all over the country on Christmas Day and indeed every other day of the year, and I've always been able to find fuel at a motorway services, or via self-service pumps at the big 4 supermarkets.

Well that's what I thought but as I said OH was causing me doubts

Personally I think he just wants to spend Christmas with his mother. I'd rather walk than spend time with her :(

Given it is only 450 miles can you not do that on one tank?
