Would probably help if you reworded your question as it really isnt clear what you are asking.
If you want an iPad then it has to be Apple as Apple is the only one to make iPads. Samsung's tablets are the Galaxy Tab and Galaxy Note
As to which is the best for you, well that depends on if there are any particular apps you want that may support only iOS or Android, if you want to buy into either the Apple or Android ecosystem etc. The overall capabilities of both brands are broadly similar0 -
Sorry a little clarity here
An iPad is an Apple product specific
Are you meaning a tablet computer? That is the generic name for that type of product
Can you answer a couple more questions please to help us. How old is your son, what will it be used for and what sort of budget is there?
Sorry for so many questions but the range of tablets is huge from <£100 to >£700 and everything inbetween. So there is a lot to choose fromThere are 10 kinds of people that understand binary
Those that do

I don't think anyone will be able to help you much on the internet. The best thing will be to go to a shop like PC World, where they can show you some different tablets and you can see which one you like best.0

I would not spend that much on a Pad. 1 - They are constantly updating and will soon be out of date.
I think a child can easily handle a 7" one, 10" for bad eyesight, or oldies like me.
They are easily broken, both by dropping and the screen breaking, and the charging/connecting point being damaged by slight tugging when plugged in.
I took advice from here and recommended an Asus from Argus for £100, for my 12 year old great niece. She is delighted with it.

It can load all the apps for educational games, and others from the Play Store, just don't tell him your password:eek:

iPads are updated every 12 months, do you really think Android tablets are updated less often? :rotfl:
As to the OPs question, if you have money to burn then get an iPad as I personally think they are still the best tablets however if I had kids and was buying something for a 4 year old it certainly wouldnt be a £500 iPad but a much cheaper Android that I wouldnt care about if it got dropped and the screen broke etc0 -
Inside Insurance - I didn't say iPad, but Pad, either sort.
