New driver : Tracker

Last year we had a tracker put on our car with the insurance. The renewal came around & we cancelled which remotely disconnected the tracker. Since having the tracker we have been having battery issues which it's not holding the charge. We've though of all the possible ways & believe it's the tracker that is continuing to…

We're trying to solve minor things before MOT

Would need to find out more about the car, how it works and what drain is normal. If/how it sleeps, what it runs etc.
In the end I fitted a new battery lol.

Yes, we did but a battery from the scrap yard but I think I may look for a new battery if this doesn't work. How much would I be looking for new ?

I'm very new to cars so don't really know exactly how things work correctly on the inside, and it's an older car of 2001.

Is that 1600? What year?
Not a lot going on - no satnav/tv/freeview etc, shouldn't be much of a 'normal' drain.
Has it been checked for charging rate?

Yes it's charging & will show fully charged on the charger if left long enough.

It will power the car & you can drive on it. But some mornings you can try turning it over & it won't go.

1.6 2001

Yes no posh devices in there. No not been checked by an professional. Just us trying to locate the drain.

Would MOT solve this ? It's booked in for 29th

Probably knackered battery then, unless the boot or glovebox light is staying on, or something stupid like that!

Edit - Charging as in when car is running, not battery on charge!
