Unfortunately I just don't have the time to get the business properly up and running so it hasn't really had a chance yet and the website hasn't really made much sales.
I suppose it would help someone just setting up in business to have an already functioning website that they can just transfer over to their name for a reduced price?
How much would someone else have to pay a web designer to get a similar web site? If less than £2400 why would they buy yours? Is the domain name anything rare or special - if so, you may get a little more. What's it's ranking on Google - again, if page 1, it may be worth a little more.0 -

Google ranking is quite bad as its not long since gone live. For the functions the website has, after shopping about for months the £2400 mark seemed to be the cheapest as many companies were quoting me around £7000 for the same thing however I was happy to go with EKM as they are a bigger company with countrywide customers and I felt more secure going with them. They've been fantastic in terms of support and as I'm no expert with websites everything has been easy to follow with them. Domain name I'm not too sure if anyone would want it its quite a long domain too so probably not.0 -

Not the first time that particular word has been used to describe how much the OP elects to pay for something...

If you was to shop around for a website you will find that £2400 is actually reasonable. Considering there seems to be no regulation with webdesign companies and many people get ripped off then the webdesigner does a bunk with their money and leaves them in the lurch.0 -
I don't think you'll get back the money you paid for it TBH. Lots of pages, unlimited stock listings, etc., = dynamic site. It costs almost the same to have 1, 10, 100, 1000 items. You've 'baked in' the VAT by the looks of things, so makes it hard for a VAT registered entity to buy the site (unless you're VAT registered of course)
The most valuable thing will be the URL - if you've got something like 'hotels.com', bingo, I'll give you £5k cash right now and hope I can distract you from selling to anyone else. If your URL is of the type 'hotel-in-west-chiswick_13.net.uk', save your £30/month and just walk away. At £30 earned through sales turnover, there's no business to speak of yet to sell.0 -
When I sold my website it was roughly valued at 2.5 x net sales.0

I doubt you'll get anything for it until it generates some worthwhile sales. Unless the domain name happens to be sought after perhaps ? Anyone can set up a mostly decent webshop in no to time at all. What have you tried to do to generate sales ?0

It's not really an area that needs regulating. It's a competitive market and even in regulated markets, most customers are expected to have some common sense0
