hi i am skylar 2014 and am new to this forum. check on this every day people seem to give good advice so here it goes can anyone help me please. we are new to catalogues and last week signed up to littlewoods. got emails and credit limit of 600. so ordered an item for 125 chose the longest to pay it back so amount was 250 altogether. dress didnt fit sent it back no probs there. paid 20 on my account as it said minimum payment was 6.20 i think and then ordered acouple of more items for my kids. no probs there emails saying thank you for order etc parcels are delivered today 16th october to pick up collect plus. then this is where i am mixed up just got an email from them saying as follows Thank you for your recent order.
Following additional checks, I regret to inform you that we cannot accept any further orders on this account. This is due to conflicting information that we were not previously aware of.
Any outstanding balance on the account should be repaid as requested on your statement..
we also opened a very account were told to pay 20 initially on account then orders have gone though and been delivered credit limit with very is 500
also opened one with isme credit limit 500
orders have been accepted and delivered
no emails from very or isme yet
when logged on to these accounts now it just gives outstanding balances and credit limit 0 with all 3 catalogues.
i know they are all the same we just opened accounts with all 3 to see if we were allowed and as a standby incase of emergency. as
our washing machine broke at start of month and after realising we werent insured anymore for it had to look into getting a new one but paywise just paid for kids ski trips in full with school so were really short of money this month.
luckily friend gave us one as they were getting new one .
this got us to thinking that if we had some catalogues we could keep them incase of anything big breaking down again. anyway enough about that.
wanted to ask if anyone had any dealings with them and if anything like this has happened to anyone else.
i emailed them and spoke on their live chat but was told to ring advisor to speak with specialist team which close before hubby gets in from work to speak with. dont want to wait till weekend to find out what is happening please if any one has any advice would love to hear from you please

The only real advice is to contact them and discuss with them. Often you'll get a system generated credit limit initially but this may be reviewed by a person after a period or your first order or two.
If the dress was £125 why did you chose to pay £250 for it by adding interest? Your saying its only because you paid for a skiing trip this month that means you couldnt afford the couple of hundred for a new washing machine so it doesnt sound as if you are on the breadline
Catalogues, traditionally, are exceptionally expensive and basically considered sub prime credit. Their prices are coming down but still are expensive in comparison to buying from other online retailers. I am curious as to why your rainy day plan is sub prime credit rather than say a 0% credit card if your sending kids off skiing etc0 -
hi . i only came on to the forum to ask genuine people for advice. why waste your time sending a reply just to be critical not helpful at all. we dont use credit the only debt we have is our mortgage. we dont even bother with overdrafts or credit cards, everything else we save up for. as i said in my post am new to catalogues and chose the longer payment option as to see if we would be accepted . only experience with catalogues was my mum had one for unexpected emergencies she had to give job up as cancer was stage 4 so her income was restricted . catalogues offer interest free and intention was to pay in full each month for items anyway. luckily we are not on the breadline as now with my mum recently dying i can go back to work full time as i gave up work to be her carer . i asked for advice on why would catalogues send us out items and then change their mind. not why do we need to order from catalogues in the first place . thank you0

oooooohhhhhhh, someone shouldn't post on an open forum and then get upset with the comments received.0
-
Also shouldn't post on a Money Saving forum if you don't want to receive comments about how you could save money!0

I'd be interested to know what advice you got via PM other than 'speak to Littlewoods'.0
