White Mobile - Porting - Any experiences?

I am a very low mobile user so PAYG suits me. I will use just a little data and a few calls and texts each month. Most calls are to my OH who could also move provider. Where I live and normally move about the Three signal is not so good which rules that out for me. EE, on the other hand has good coverage in my areas.

I am tempted by the White Mobile service as it seems to do what I want, gives free calls to my OH and runs on the EE network. The only thing that concerns me is if I wanted to port away from them as some point. Does anyone have any experience of that? I'd be interested to hear. I have had the same mobile number for ten years so keeping it is important to me.

Giffgaff to Giffgaff calls are free and it runs on O2 network.

  • Thanks, but from what I can gather Giffgaff to Giffgaff calls are free for three months after top up and I believe White to White are always free. Could be wrong though. Also the O2 coverage in my area of normal operation is not as good as the EE signal.

Guess no one has ported away from White Mobile. I'm always asking things that are uncommon :rotfl:

Why are you expecting porting issues with White?

It has been around for a couple of years and seems a perfectly good small virtual network. Much cheaper than GG, free voicemail and unlimited calls and texts within network.

I thought they had to let people port out anyway. Even Ovivo let people port out when it went bust.

Probably not that many people want to leave so no one has had experience in porting out.

I ported TO White Mobile about a year ago, which went smoothly. They've only been running for a couple of years, so I guess there can't be that many people who have ported away yet. I'm another low user and their PAYG works well for me.
