You're too young to be getting the flu jab.0
-
I've had it every year for the last 5 years, never had a problem and never had the flu either. Daft not to.0

I get offered it as I'm Diabetic but always refuse. Never had the flu either, imagine that!0

Having had the full bore wipeout flu for 3Christmasses out of 4 I now get the jab each year. Haven't had flu since. Felt a little off the dayafter the last one, but nothing terrible. It's worth getting.0

I get it every year, asthma and diabetes. Trouble this year was the doctor decided to give me mine instead of me having to come back.
Never ever let the doctor do it. First sign something was wrong, he started rubbing the spot with a cotton swap. Then the big lump which radiated heat for about 3 days, then the massive bruise.
When the nurse does it, in and out in a few minutes and no problems. I don't don't get the flu,but chest infection without a doubt 3 times a year. Usual is two to three courses of antibiotics and two rounds of steroids.0 -
I used to get it every year for the past 20 years then a few years ago they changed the goalposts and I didn't fit the criteria,
This year I had a heart attack and hit 65 so hit the criteria on 2 points.
Never had a reaction though apart from a tiny bit of soreness on injection site for a day or so.
The very first year I didn't get it, I had major flu or something like it.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -
I wish I could persuade my mum to have it. She's older, and has asthma and is convinced the jab will give her flu. I know it's her choice, but I also know how it'll knock her for 6 if she does get flu. She can't be convinced though. All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.0 -

I didn't know you'd had a heart attack. I hope you're well recovered?
I've been getting the flu jab since it came out as I fall into the vulnerable category. Never really had much of a problem with it other than a bit of localised heat or irritation. It's basically an egg culture.
I haven't had a bout of the flu since getting it and boy am I glad because I was hit really hard by it a few times. In those days I was a hard man to knock down but it felled me good and proper. The worst was the Chinese Flu in the early 90's. When the actual flu was over you got a residual chest problem which lasted, in my case, for six weeks. At that time I lived on the third floor of a tenement block in Edinburgh - not funny, especially with shopping.0 -

My mammy is 82 and has chest problems. She's been getting the jab for years. I'd say your best bet is to press your mammy to get it.0
