  • Good afternoon everyone :wave::wave:

Currently sat at my desk at work :whistle:Only a couple of hours left - but seem to have lost my motivation!!

Need to pop to Tesco's after work to buy a couple of bottles of Baileys (currently on offer at £12 a bottle ) to put in my C******** cupboard :D

I pickled 2 large kilner jars of onions at the weekend, I'm really looking forward to cracking them open in a few months!

I want to make some salted caramel vodka this year, I've googled and found a recipe which includes vodka, werther's originals and salt - hope it's tasty!

Dinner tonight will be chicken ragu and spaghetti, need to use up some cherry tomatoes and spring onions.

Also need to catch up my massive ironing pile tonight - boo!

Hope everyone has a lovely day :T
Squares knitted for my throw ~ 90 (yes!!! I have finally finished it :rotfl: )
Squares made for my patchwork quilt ~ 80 (only the "actual" quilting to do now :rotfl:)

I know how much you love him - I feel the same about my dogs x
Lets hope it is nothing too sinister xxx

Im wondering if there is a link to full moon? I think there is for Molly and when i was a midwife the ladies always acted in a most peculiar fashion:rotfl:
I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.
  • Oh LYN I hadn't realised Docky was so poorly I thought it was a result of the storms. I know how much you love him, and quite rightly so, and I know you will do your utmost to make him comfortable.

Our pets burrow into our hearts and we love them so much. Their love is always unconditional, no matter what carp is thrown at us, we know they will always love us.

Please give him a hug from me and I hope the vetty person can come up with something.

    Much love

    Candlelightx

I sense another healing candle for poorly pups is needed.:(

I too dread firework season; some of the dogs I get staying are fine, others are terrified. All we can really do is shut the curtains and have something "noisy" on in the lounge, such as an RPG game on the computer. Can't have that going all night though; and some of the fireworks seem to go off at ridiculous hours of the night.

I've made a lasagne for tonight's dins (just got to cook it) - we'll have the 2nd half of it tomorrow. Mr LW and his pal are going to the MK beer festival tomorrow evening - I said I'd drive them and fetch them home, but I'm not staying. Hanging around a beer festival, at crotch-height to everyone else, and drinking nowt but water is not my idea of a fun evening; and in any case, I don't want to leave Jack on his own for ages.
If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)
  • You're an incredibly kind and caring bunch you know? it's such a comfort and much appreciated in dark times, thank you so much, Lyn xxx.
  • Evening all
    GB61, welcome.
TTFM, we have a few teachers in the same position, too expensive.
Both my DD came over to see hubby today, bought himg et well cards, chocolate etc.
Mrs LW, so sorry to hear about Docky.
Molly, I hope you get some sleep.
Fortunately the dog I'm looking after over half term takes no notice of fireworks or thunder.
I changed the dressings on hubby's feet without mishap, so that's a hurdle cleared.
    Have a good evening everyone
    Hugs Hester
    Chin up, Titus out.

Welcome stressedoutmumof1. Lovely to see another new face amongst us.:wave::wave: I look forward to reading more of your posts.

Must admit fireworks don't bother my 'Girls'. So glad really because I know what a hard time my Sister In Law has with her dog around bonfire night. Her dog is terrified.

  • Good evening chums, well I had a lovely day today .One of the ladies from my history class popped in with a nice bunch of flowers and a Terrys chocolate orange (medicinal purposes of course :):):)) this morning so we had a cuppa and a natter then this afternoon my sis-in-law arrived with my niece and gt-nephew for a visit .She is on a flying visit from Mexico and we had a great long chinwag about the things she misses from England ,even though she has spent over half her life out there.Mainly its food ,proper jam doughnuts, bacon, Branston pickle and of all things yorkshire puds as where she lives because of the altitude yorkshires just won't rise .She owns and runs a restaraunt so is a pretty good cook. She said the yorkies just refuse to rise and end up like biscuits .She also misses 'lardy' cake and proper Cadburys chocolate. She is great company and it was lovely to see her.
I'm just off to bed now as I have had quite a busy day with my visitors. Both of my DDs turned up to see their cousin and also three of my DGS as well so my tiny cottage was bulging at the seams by tea time :):)
Hope every one has had a good day The weather changed this morning and it was quite bright and warm this afternoon, long may it last
    Night,night God bless all here
