  • Good Morning everyone, we had a lovely day yesterday visiting the little Zebra who still has a cold and is hard work for him Mum so we gave her some free time and we had fun with him. The journey home though from the west country was as bad as anything I've ever experienced with the volume of rain coming down. We were aquaplaning on the motorway on several occasions and visibility was virtually nil even with the windscreen wipers on at the highest speed, not nice at all. He Who Knows is a very good driver and he wasn't enjoying it or the other road users one little bit. Never mind, we made it safely home in the end.

The dog is being very unsettled these days, he's waking us in the night digging in odd corners for no discernable reason we can see and it's taking its' toll of both energy and mood. Today he's refusing to cross the doorstep despite it being bright sun and dry and warm out there. I have a feeling that he might have a secondary in his brain from the tumor on his face poor old boy but unless we fork out another small fortune for a scan we'll just have to cope as best we can for as long as we can. I'm dreading fireworks though, he's just on the ceiling for the entire period, wish me luck?

Not much planned today, housework, some ironing and perhaps a trip to the library if He Who Knows can sit with the boy as I can't leave him alone at the moment. I seem to be getting through books at a great rate of knots with all the being awake at night so a top up would be nice.

Have yourselves a good day everyone, Lyn xxx.

    Hi everyone,

I feel as if I'm just crawling along being very boring at the moment. I need something to get me out of the rut but I don't know what. Maybe doing a few hours paid work will help. I went into the office to discuss it yesterday but had to leave because DH had told me the wrong day for an appointment so I still don't know what they want me to do.

DD rang on her way to work in tears because she's in pain with her back and feels very ropey. Her BF has been ill as well, I think they are both very run down. They're off to Sri Lanka at the end of the month so hopefully they'll be able to recharge. having said that DD has arranged accommodation and flights on the back of writing articles so I hope she'll be able to have a proper break.

We had meatballs in tomato sauce last night for dinner (adapted from Frugal Queen's recipe) and it was very yummy. Maybe hm sweet and sour chicken tonight.

    Have a good day.
  • Morning all,

Lots of (((hugs))) needed all round I think from reading all your posts.

Hope those of you feeling poorly, run down and having lots to deal with feel better soon.

Lovely day outside after a pretty rainy start. Washing on the line. Been to Dobbies to stock up on meat for the freezer. That's all cut up and bagged into appropriate sizes.

Not up to much today. Keep thinking I will sort out my clothes as I have some I never wear but find it difficult to get rid in case I decide to wear them! I might leave it as another half term job...

I've changed my gas/elec supplier and today is supposed to be switchover day. Funny how I haven't heard a word from my current supplier. Probably because I am quite a bit in credit :/

DH gone fishing and DS2 at College.

Have a good day all :)

Last couple of days haven't been home much so am really looming forward to a day of domesticity at home. Bathrooms to clean, upstairs to dust and some baking is on the cards along with some dog walking and parents "eve" this afternoon.

Tea tonight is peppers stuffed with turkey and rice.

Nowt else going on. Have a great day everyone. Hugs and spoons all round xx

    Morning all,

well the saga of the online scammers is on going. Youngest is at the bank now and the fraud department is now investigating. Many thanks to Ladyshopper who sent us in the right direction. The bank is now taking it more seriously now my son has asked for a new bank account.

Today is Grandbaby day. His Mum woke me up. Normally, the rooms are vacuumed and kitchen floor bleached a good hour or so before he comes on Thursdays but not today. Ive had to muddle through best I can. He's asleep in his cot now so ive caught up with everything downstairs. Vacuuming upstairs will have to wait till tomorrow. I'll be knackered by the time he goes home.

I took this picture of him after I got him fed/bathed and dressed.

Nothing else to report I don't think. Tea will chucked together as usual.

    Onwards and forwards,

    have a great day all.

    Afternoon all,

Grey and damp here today, I try to avoid weather reports as they are so regularly wrong but apparently there's a big weather front headed this way so a damp weekend ahead!

There's lots of nonsense going on at work at the minute, I've been doing a tempoarary assignment which a month ago I was told I'd be moved away from to give someone else the opportunity too. I'm not very happy about it but I have no say so I've closed myself emotionally and am getting on with it. Had to keep it to myself for a month as it took them that long to make an official announcement. Was down visiting that team earlier and talking to them about the hand over and that manager (not my own but who I had been doing work for) overheard and called me into his office, turns out noone bothered to share that information with him. I was mortified, I think it's so unproffessional of them not to have said. All I could do was apologise and say I had assumed the decision makers would have told him and if i'd known they hadn't i'd have gone to speak to him myself. Starting to think a new job is required.

Put away the dry clothes from the airer this morning and recycling out for collection. House is tidyish at the moment, spare room needs cleared out so I can strip the skirtings/carpets and move forward with more decorating.

TTFTM fingers crossed for your OH today, let us know how it goes! My mum is a teacher and has been trying to get another job for a number of years. She's 57 at the minute and thinks that being so close to retirement age is what's preventing her getting anything.

Hugs to all the poorlies, hope everyone is warm and dry.

  • Afternoon all,

Lovely afternoon here, have been out and about, to the Bank, did bit of shopping, went to see DD and picked up our prescriptions, which shou;d have been ready, but were not:mad:

had a text to say our new furniture is ready for delivery, so then had to arrange for charity to pick our settee and chairs up next Friday, and new stuff will be delivered Saturday, they did quote 5 November so I am excited (it doesn't take much):j

JUDI he is gorgeous isn't he, he has such an open face, I have always said our 3 GC have lovely open faces I don't know whether you understand what I mean)

TTFTM I hope DH is pleased with his inteview.

Lynseyjane don't you hate office politics:eek: I am so glad I am retired now and don't have to endure the whispering, back stabbing and everything involved in it.

Hugs for everyone who would like one, and it is almost the weekend. Fridays seem to come round very quickly.

Oh Mrs Lurcherwalker - my sympathies i really hope it is not secondaries. As you know Molly behaves in a similar manner and we discussed it with the vet only last week as we had a week of night-time waking at around 2am. The vet did say that doggies can get dementia symptoms so it might be a similar thing?

Im dreading fireworks too but that is Poppy not Molly. Pops has had an operation today for her teeth and to have a fatty lump removed. She OK so just waiting to collect her. i guarantee that I won't het sleep tonight as she seems to have a bad reaction to anaesthetic and becomes restless. Let's hope it is a clear night then we can sit outside and stare at the stars - that is her most calming thing to do. She is a tinker though as she goes and sits right in the middle of the garden and I can't get to her, otherwise I will fall over:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Hugs for a good OS day xx
I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.
  • I love him so much MOLLY and I hate to see him so scared but he's always been a highly strung and nervous creature and this behaviour is extreme even for him. I hate not being able to reach him and make him not scared, we've tried everything the vet can come up with and it's beginning to take its' toll on us with the sleepless nights/disturbed sleep. I'm really concerned as he seems to be not so steady on his legs too so I think we'll review him with the vet in the not too distant future, I really don't want him to suffer needlessly.

Glad Poppy puppy is OK and coming home tonight to her Mum and Molly and hope that you have the most beautiful clear night for star gazing together, you're kind to think of us when you have your own worries love, much appreciated, Love Lyn xxx.
