SSE charges me adjusted units instead of units used?
Options
Hi my parents just switched to SSE for their business gas contract, and we noticed that they are charging on "adjusted units" based on temperature blah blah. They work it out by dividing units used with calorific value and they add it on top of units used therefore charging more then what is actually used! So what can I do besides complain to them, are they allowed to do this? is it miss-selling? thank you

You need to read SSE's Business Gas ts and cs. I doubt that they are doing anything underhand.

Quality and Pressure
21.1 The Gas supplied to You under this Agreement
shall conform to the quality standards provided for
under Section 16 of the Act and shall be at the
pressure laid down in Relevant Gas Transporter’s
Network Code.
22 Calculation of Kilowatt Hours Supplied
22.1 The volume of Gas registered by the meter at
each Supply Point corrected for temperature and
pressure as appropriate shall be prima facie
evidence of the quantity of Gas supplied under the
Agreement subject to clause 5.1.
22.2 You shall be charged by reference to the number
of kWhs calculated in accordance with the
prescribed methods under Section 12 of the Act
'The Act' means The Gas Act 1986. If there was any wrong doing then I suspect that it might have been noticed before now.
If your are really bored - or just interested - then here is an explanation of the calorific value of gas; i.e., not all gas is the same.
