Gosh, if I was going to pick up on someone's grammar, I think I would also feel more than a little compelled to actually contribute to their thread

KC - glad they are getting this sorted for you; it sounds like it was a genuine mix-up, but that's no excuse for them making you jump through all sorts of hoops to get this back to them. I think I would be inclined to give the postage quote: I imagine it is going to be relatively hefty to return? They may then realise it's cheaper to ask their courier to collect it.
  • Normally they do have yodel pick it up when you buy something. I don't see why it should be any different.

Littlewoods do free returns and as above, the courier comes to you.

You should ask if they can do that seeing as this isn't your mistake or if you have a nearby shop that does Collect+ ask for a return label.

Might it be too big for Collect Plus? I know they have size limits, but not sure how big...

Oh dear the grammar police are out!!!! How terrible of me to sometimes write as I think when I'm busy in between working and running businesses. I do hope this post is up to your standard.

Anyway, thank you everyone else for the advice , I really appreciate it. I will email her now and ask about them arranging a courier to pick up item.
    2019 wins- Box of brownies,
  • You shouldn't have to pay to receive a prize particularly not in order to correct their fault. Have you considered asking for the balance of the prizes' value in cheque form to draw a line underneath it all?

I still say go to the ASA or at least mention your intention to do so to them.

She said she will reimburse me whatever the postage cost is (she's getting a bit snotty now!). Postage is going to cost about £30, turns out it was a discontinued line as well and I actually feel like that it was intentional to send it, judging by the emails sent to me now, with the hope that it's such a pain to send back that I just give up .

And I'm really grateful for winning prize in the first place , and it would be different if it was on a similar level to the one stated or if the lady was being helpful but it's not so I'm just not letting it go :-/

I would ask if she also intends to refund your costs for driving to the Post Office....

Keep at it! You won the higher value prize and that is what you should get. No idea why she is making it so difficult. Weird. Good luck :)
Thank you to everyone who posts on the competitions boards. You all rock!
