There is a nightclub there but you have to look hard to find it. It's on one of the side streets and you'd neer know by walking past it.
I love Stalis and try and go every year. It's almost like going to visit friends rather than going on holiday
I think the nightclub is at the side of the Panorama Hotel but when we go in October it is not open so never really heard it.
I had a gyros pita while waiting for the bus to pick us up for the airport run on Tuesday lunchtime - yummm - last one for a good few months though *sigh*
I do have to say for the op that 3 gyros pitas costs less than €10. Take it back to the apartment and sit on the balcony to enjoy a feast.
We also make a cheese and meat roll to take on the beach for lunch then have an icecream at about 2pm - just to keep us going until we head back to the room for a cuppa and a biscuit.
You need to keep your strength up for all that laying around you understand!

La rocca I think it's called. I must have walked past it 100 times before I even knew what it was
the door is always closed
Where do you stay while you're there?
To be honest, I don't think I'd survive on AI there. There are so many good places to eat, you'd be missing out on so much if you didn't go to them
Mmmmmmm, Maria's Golden Beach...

I see the standard moaning replies about Ai have already been posted.
Was recently in Turkey, the Ai gave jobs to the Turkish waiter/ bottle washer/ barman etc etc These large Ai bring much needed money to the area and the locals who find jobs are grateful . All hotels positively aid the local population .as they negatively affect the local popuations &BUT - we chose when to eat, where to eat, what to eat and for us that is a big part of our holiday.
So do I , the only difference is that I don't have to go off the complex.
My last Ai had 7 different areas to eat. We've seen too many people queuing up - plates in hand - at lunchtimes in AI hotels.
And you never have to wait in a 'local' restaurant?? The owner can mind readand have your lunch waiting for you when you come thru the door??
I personally like the 'grand' buffet and the show cooking. I wonder around ( plate in my hand) taking a small amount of anything that catches my attention . Back to the table, chat / discuss what everyone else has discovered. Anything a success, back for some more!
Anything that is wrong for me.......ditch it and go find something else.
This way I try far more dishes than any small restaurant would /could supply or I would be prepared to pay for.
Ai suits me. BUT never ever try and do Ai on the cheap. The Op budget is far to low. The 17 and 14 year old, may well be classified as adults, so we are looking at the cost of three adults and a child, school hols , more than double your money to get somewhere nice.0 -

WE used to stay at the Panorama Hotel but Thomsons got too expensive so we defected to Pefkos for a few years but Jet2 had a great deal on for 10 days at the Eri Studios - was over £100 cheaper then 7 days  Not a 5 star place by any imagination but it had a shower, beds and a kettle so it suited us. Was immaculately clean though.
As for Maria's Golden Beach!! We had one meal there then saved it for our last meal on the Monday evening only to walk down there to find they had closed for the season!!!:(
Had to have another meal at Hellas taverna up the road from there.Mags - who loves shopping0 -
Your idea of heaven (presumably), my idea of hell.So do I , the only difference is that I don't have to go off the complex.

Don't be ridiculous! :rotfl:And you never have to wait in a 'local' restaurant?? The owner can mind readand have your lunch waiting for you when you come thru the door??
Of course you have to wait for your food in a local restaurant - but not standing up with a plate clutched to your midriff until you get to a bank of tables with dishes on that have been pawed over by previous diners.
You sit at a table, you order drinks, you peruse the menu, you make your choice, it's cooked fresh.
No comparison at all to the type of AI is likely to get for her budget.Ai suits me. BUT never ever try and do Ai on the cheap. The Op budget is far to low. The 17 and 14 year old, may well be classified as adults, so we are looking at the cost of three adults and a child, school hols , more than double your money to get somewhere nice.
And that's why the OP has got the responses so far.
I'm well aware of your opinions on good quality AI - in fact I'm surprised you're so late to the party
but earlier posters were trying to point out potential pitfalls on cheap AI. 0 -
Please clarify. I get the choice of multiply places to eat, so do you?Your idea of heaven (presumably), my idea of hell.
Mine is a short walk ......... don't know how far you have to travel. You sit at a table, you order drinks, you peruse the menu, you make your choice, it's cooked fresh.
I sit at a table ( do you think I would have to stand) I order drinks.
I look at the dishes......... you look at the printed word. I have more information.it's cooked fresh.
As fresh as any other restaurant ( please do your research in the running of any food establishment, a cooks day starts very early)
And in the case of many Ai, show cooking is one of the highlights.
To be honest, you could get the same effect if you forced your way into the kitchen of your little/local establishment.
We are all trying to answer the OP questions,Unless you want to eat slop and drink bad beer and wine, cheap all inclusives are a no no.
Stick to 5 * Ai , never cheap but 'can' be great holidays.0 -
You are basing your comments on high quality AI - as you admit in your final comment.
I doubt that is what the OP would get for her budget.
I personally didn't mention eating slop and drinking bad beer/wine but I would expect more than food that has been out on display for some time and having to drink out of plastic glasses - which is what some friends reported from a 'cheap' AI holiday.
As for 'sitting at a table', I'm sure you are being deliberately obtuse.
If you are queuing for food - as some hotels operate 'buffet-style' food, you can't actually be sat down.
Unlike someone who goes into a local restaurant and sits down at a table to look at the menu.
Can you understand the difference now?

Hi all,
I'm looking at taking my daughters to Greece for a Summer Holiday next year. My daughters at the time of travel will be 17, 14 & 11. I'm hoping to find an all inclusive for approx £1,500 if that's possible.
Does anyone have any websites, tips, places I can look at?
I can travel from any North, North/East, North/West or Nottingham airports.
Thanks in advance for any help or tips.
Kind regards
Mike
Get each daughter and yourself a rucksack, buy a cheap flight to Athens, catch a ferry to an island in say the Cyclades and then island-hop picking up inexpensive lodgings and eating out in local restaurants.
The girls will have the adventure of a lifetime and you learn more about the wonderful country of Greece and its people than staying in any AI resort.

would like to add that a lot of the AIs in Greece bus down workers from their home countries so the German one's employ mainly Germans etc & they also tend to use the food their clients are used to so you see lorry loads of wurst etc.
there are so the things you don't think of such as the licensed sunbed hirer on the beach who no longer has customer's because they stay at the hotelproud gran to 4 lovely boys and one little girl0
