    Morning all:)
Dark grey autumnal day here in High Bradfield.
    I love it:p
Mornings are strange now as no school run now that Noah goes on the SEN transport.
Already cleaned kitchen and washing in, beds made.
Quick cuppa now before hoovering through.
Tea tonight is a tub of bolognese sauce I made and froze last week. Will do some tagliatelle with it and I made some baguettes yesterday so leftover ones become garlic bread. Nice easy tea.
I have a bit of ironing I will try to get done when madam has her nap.
Thanks for all wishes for DH. The hyoscine I asked GP to prescribe is settling some of his pain so he's going to clear some of his job backlog today ...his business is very busy at the mo as everyone turning heating on for the first time in months to find it's conked out lol.
Going to do some egg box painting with Asher later as she loves these activities.

    Tru....what's the job?

TTFN good luck to DH. Re take away I can't remember the last one we enjoyed. If I succumb it's always a let down and I end up thinking I could have made better myself lol and then bemoan the wasting of money .

Hugs to all needing one ...still not caught up fully on news

    Morning all,

Hester I hope your beloved feels a little better after his op.

Good luck with the interview Mr TTFTM. Just to get an interview is an achievement in itself these days.

Thinking of Mr NPM too. Hope he gets his health sorted soon.

Bright but wet day here. Didn't go to bed till late. Like a fool I had two cups of coffee near bedtime. I lay in bed for ages before finally giving up on sleep and getting up again. Shan't be doing that again.

Usual dailies for me, I'm going to give the 'Girls' a bit of a haircut today. Lucy dog has now been given the name 'Bear' because she looks like a bear with all that hair. With the length though comes the knots and I refuse to tug on them to get them out. Its not fair on them.

    Onwards and forwards,

    have a great day all.

    Morning all,

Did get half a message typed yesterday then was called off to a meeting and it was left half done all day!

It's grey here today but not as dark as it was yesterday. I succumbed to the cold and the heating is now set to come on for a half hour in the morning and after work. It had been a struggle to get out of bed the last couple of mornings for the cold (I need little encouragement to stay in bed!) and the house was so cold after being empty all day that I was putting it on for most of the evening.
I'm looking at ways to keep the house warm and hung a thermal curtain at the front door, I'm also arranging for a new back door to be fitted which will be a lot warmer and hopefully not leak either! I had new windows fitted earlier this year which will make a big difference too.

Yesterday was a NSD, tea was soup from the freezer. I also did a load of washing which is now on the airer and ironed most of that pile, there's three pairs of trousers which I'll do this evening.
Today won't be a NSD as I need to buy milk and had agreed to meeting a friend for tea before realising how tight my budget was. I've got money left in the house fund so will take from there, it was all extra money raised through selling bits off and extra work so not from normal salary/budget.
I've done a meal plan for the rest of the month and only need to buy some chicken, everything else is from cupboards and freezer. Will mean a big clear out of all my stashed meals so I can have space for soups and more wintery meals.

TTFTM good luck to your OH for the interview, maybe after he speaks to them he'll feel more interested? Don't beat yourself up about the take away, we all do it sometimes, though why is it always stodgy things we eat too late and not salad? haha
Tru I feel your pain on the eczema front, mine can flare with stress and was awful for a couple of months before I had my holidays, perfect for two weeks I was off and the day before I came back flared again. Have you tried antihistamines to ease it? I find it can make a difference.
Hester sorry to hear your OH is having problems, hope he heals well and isn't in too much pain.
JackieO sorry to hear you're taking time to heal, please listen to your body though and take it easy.

Hugs to those who need or want them, hope you all have a lovely day

  • Tru have you tried Dreamwash and Dreamcream from Lush for your eczema?
  • Another grey and dank day here as well.

DH went to the dentist this morning and is really not happy with her, as I told you he lost a crown and she has told him that he needs to have the root taken out and that could mean surgery .........in a months time :eek:Meanwhile he has a massive hole in his gum  I have told him to ask for a different dentist in the practice or to find another dentist:mad:
Popped into Morrisons to get some special offer stuff and spent £40 but got £5 back so that has gone into my coupon pot, I must have nearly £200 in there now  :D

TTFM positive vibes for DH's interview

Tru my DD swears by lush stuff to keep her excema at bay.

Hester hope DH is feeling less pain today, although it does throb for a few days.

NPM I hope DH is not in too much pain today x

JackieO Do as you are told and rest. A few weeks doing as you are told will help your body to heal x

Must get DH's parsnip and apple soup on that he has requested for his dinner, he can have it with some fresh bread from Morries.

Wow the sun has just come out :j

Well its been an eventful morning for 'Youngest'. He applied for a number of jobs yesterday and got a phone call this morning. I could hear him nattering away. It was for an interview so I thought. They ran through some details with him.... Name, age, forms of ID, what bank he was with.... I could hear muttering.... sort code, bank account number then 'Youngest' came into me and said "Mom they want the long number across my debit card". I told him you only give that if your buying stuff, no employer would need that number to pay money into your account.... plus the fact he hadn't even been interviewed yet.

The phone call was terminated by my son pretty damned quick. I told him they couldn't take any money from his account with just his sort code and account number but he's gone to the bank, just to make sure.

Thieving sods, preying on the weak and vunerable who are out of work....I'll see what the bank says when he gets back.

    Afternoon all,

Judi - I'd have been so annoyed. Ars*s the lot of them!

It brightened up for a little bit earlier but it didn't last long. Still it suits my mood as I seem to be a bit down and grumpy these past few days, which really isn't like me at all. I'll blame my age!!!

Yesterday was a bit of a bad day. I was just about to leave for work at lunchtime when DS2 came in. His brakes on his scooter had jammed on as he took a corner (thankfully very near home) and he came off. Silly, silly boy wasn't wearing gloves (how many times does he need telling!!!) and so had two large round grazes on the fleshy part of his palms. Washed and dressed them and consequently I was a bit later leaving for work. For a change I didn't get stuck on the roundabout (with badly timed lights) and so was going at a reasonable speed as I entered the dual carriageway. This has a layby very near the junction with the roundabout. A lorry decided to pull out in front of me and I had to swerve to miss it. Thankfully the car in the outside lane was far enough behind me to see what was happening but it could have all been so different. Most annoying thing was, the lorry went back into the layby to park in front of the truck he'd been stopped behind!

    Outpouring over :)

    Mince for tea tonight.
  • Total scum preying on the vulnerable like that, good job you had your wits about you Judi!

    Did you 1471 the number?
