Mr A V Mr W on multi buy 2 for £3 multi buy not showing

    1 x Imperial Leather Body Wash - Funfair Nostalgia (250... £2.00 £1.00
    1 x Imperial Leather Hair & Body Wash for Men - Invigo... £2.00 £1.00

Well there you are streetlights, you managed to get me to go and do another shop:eek::eek::D. You only need to post "paid to take them away" and Savvy immediately rushes out, all panick stations (I decided to spell that with a 'k' deliberately btw:D, because I can!) without calculating it out. To be fair, I think I got "paid to take" in my head from elsewhere!

I did realise they weren't quite free before I bought them though. My concern was - and doing things at drop of a hat, short notice has never fitted well with me, I prefer to work things out, slowly, painstakingly and to perfection by which time I'm way too late and have missed it completely - not that the mbuy would suddenly reappear - these are showing "£2" on a.com but that they might indeed be £2 each tomorrow and not 2 for £3. £2 for a small 250ml body wash - and to believe that some people might pay it! Doubtless taken in by both the brand and the very clever marketing names - "Funfair Nostalgia", "Day at the Spa", "Invigorating" and the like, all of which conjure up positive images - and, just thinking, some people do buy ridiculously priced designer clothing and the like don't they?

If they were to be £2 tomorrow, I maybe should have waited - as there was no sign that they were taking down the mbuy SEL in my store. So, maybe £2 GC if they kept it like that and if it went onto the price appearing online. Or should be 4x £2 GC as I bought four different ones, also being forced to do so by their rules.

I chucked in a Kitchen Rolls pack for good measure. I bought two of those earlier - did a Mullers shop and accounted for a purchase of two packs as what we might need - you can never have too many - got to my store and... picked the last two packs left on the shelf. So, I went to a different store for the one just now. We are really getting through these at home:( and probably should have bought even more and more, even though they have been downsized in height. But, just got one extra for good luck tonight.

It's like the I Can't Believe spreads - I didn't get nearly enough of those last time - I had them supposedly through to their expiry date of December but we ran out already. Had to buy more vs T's expensive 82p pricing earlier (expensive in the context of M being £1.37 on the 1Kg months ago - when, I had hoped, they would last until their expiry date and not be used up well before then:(:(). Fwiw, I notice the Light version (500g) is comparing vs Morries at £1.65:(, even though they too are £1 there, but irrelevant anyway as T is 82p on each. Might affect us if they buy them on wombles and Morries is the 'best' comp.

Meanwhile, on the wombles back from tonight, they are buying the same things that they always buy, as usual:(:(. All those glitchy items and good comparisons and they fail to buy any of them:(. Where are those 2x Jam Donuts wombles given that they were sold out from my other stores earlier? I have one of them falling for the £3 for £3 Kelloggs cereal bars offer again:(:(:( (and :(:(:(:(:rotfl::rotfl:), twice. However, they managed to miss the mbuy on the Hartleys tablets jellies (bought just two at 54p each:eek:) when elsewhere is also on 3 for £1. Oh, the cereal bars were all the same (six times over) - as were the two jellies. Looks like they've not even bought 8 different items. Just no hope for these people!

As for me, although, at least the end of British Summer Time has meant I'm now going shopping at quarter to eleven at night instead of quarter to midnight. I like these long dark nights...:D Especially appropriately on Hallowe'en I suppose...

Which - now means all those Hallowe'en items and sweets and things - they are exactly the same ingredients and taste exactly the same as other sweets but, just because of their "spooky" names or whatever... now's the time to start thinking of buying them at 'ridiculous' clear-out prices!:D:D:rotfl::money:

  • PD I must thank you for the You Beauty site.
Avnet calendar arrived today. It is huge. Looked at booklet that can in box and every item either has a gift with purchase code or money off code in the booklet. Nice savings on a couple of labels I use anyway.
Think will pay for cost of calendar if I stock up on these before end of January.
I signed up for a first month as meant I could get free delivery on advent and 2 nice samples of my choice. The extra gifts they say they put in was one bottle of something vile you are meant to drink a bottle of everyday but never mind. Dd is going to love it as includes Benefit, Molton Brown, aromatherapy associates and 22 other labels.
    Good call.
I also got a couple of no 7 adverts to sit on for now.

Nic had an incident and managed to put himself in hospital

    Me - what incident?

he tried to put a 'scary' caontact lens in and managed to faint and bang his head

went all hissy for a bit then threw up everywhere and had a panic attack

so now he is in hospital

    but he is okay

Me - Well that must have been a very scary contact lens!
    Pleased he is okay

Id still have to get back from Edinburgh and sort the school stuff out.......no one else does it! :p
And where's the fun in giving people a break from me?? :p :rotfl::rotfl:

On a serious note Id have to ask DS1 to come home. He would do it but I don't like taking advantage. Sadly there's no way I'd leave OH on his own with the kids for that long. He gets stressy.

    Thanks.
Second visit today seemed more normal.
There is a room with toaster and microwave plus kettle and supplies for guests to use. The mugs a varying and dad likes bone china. He and his sister had hidden the best 2 they could find behind his cards but we have decided to bring his fav 2 from his house then he has an excuse to keep in his room.

He is so much better mentally. Telly first thing to catch up on news plus been finding new radios stations with less adverts and of course bbc4 story at bedtime. He is having a bash at all the food. He mentioned he would like a pack of rich tea biscuits for his room and his dsis bought in a huge tin of choc biscuits, very nice of her but he can't eat them with dodgy digestion. Still he has something to offer visitors.
He says he overdosed on visitors yesterday a friend in morning, his other sister after lunch then me for an hour before my sister arrived. He likes talking and after 12 weeks of almost silence he realised he had been talking too much and everything ached. He is using less oxygen and his chest infection has gone.

All positive things. He is even joking a bit with the carers.

I have come home feeling he is content. No mention of not staying there so presume a longer contract is being done as was 2 weeks respite originally. Didn't get to pub today but will do next week.

My sister is finding life easier and managing to build up her flexi hours again. She is enjoying the chance to just sit and chat with dad.

That all does sound very positive and must be a huge weight off your and your sis minds.

With visitors, I guess people are trying to do the right thing and be there. I think people often think that people in hospitals/care homes etc are lonely and its thoughtful of them to visit. The truth is, I expect wherever you are you just want a routine and time to do your own thing. It'll hopefully settle down. Don't be afraid to tell people to stay away until he settles in if that's what he needs. Or even sort out a managble (for him) visiting rota.

Im glad that it's going well :A

The new thread:eek::eek:. You can if you want, although there's nearly 1000 posts of this one still left yet! Only 9/10ths of the way through. Is this some sort of size reduction thing like the supermarkets? If so, I think it's gone way too ridiculous:rotfl:.

:j I'm glad and the coupons sound pretty handy. Also thank you for the heads up about the Benefit calendar. It arrived yesterday and my brother's begrudgingly bringing it back next week. Thinking about keeping some now and splitting the rest up for presents (as I have a few doubles). :o
