My parents had solar water panels put up in 1994. They still have the same panels now. They also had ground source heat pumps put in just to use when they had guests and needed loads of water.

They have a pump system that heats the hot water for central heating which uses some electric. They had the electric panels put in 2006.
They sell back around £900 of electric. They use PCs, TV all day lights, fridge, 2 freezers
, washing machine everyday and dishwasher.

Depends on number of panels and facing of roofs but I think it is a great thing as all for alternative energy.

Going back to 1994 mum said first bath cost £2.5k and she had had free water ever since.

When we had Orlando villa there was no other solar around. We had panels for pool heating, house hot water and house electric. As we rented it out people were not that careful and left air con on all day and night. We were selling back a lot of electric.

When I finally buy a house I will have all alternative energy. You can insure panels against extreme weather damage.

I also invested in a company that put panels on schools. Schools basically rent roof space out and in return get free electric.
Also invested in the new tidal energy farm in Wales.

If you can afford the outlay then better to buy yourself as the income is good. If you decide to rent your roof then just make sure you are insured against installation damaging your roof.

It is so rare in Florida that the couple whombought our house didn't know there was solar and agent didn't point it out. He felt like a lottery winner when he found out as we had spent around £30k installing it all.

I would want the best effective panels though as you still get some electric even on drab winter days as it is light that makes them work of course sunlight is best as brighter.

The thing is if they are free and there s no charge to us for anything it won't make any difference. Hopefully we will see some reductions in the cost of our bills and if we don't i ll be saying something lol. They are just renting some of our roof space and as they are at the back they aren t intrusive plus they will protect the tiles. We have the maximum 18 as ours is in the perfect position apparently.

There are two options the ones you pay for which you get money back etc or the free ones that reduce your bills. I knew which option I wanted. The company we had is called A shade greener. So if anyone wishes to go for it please pm me

In M Five beanz are not on offer and are £2.60

Buying 4 Five beanz would see £5 in A versus £10.40 in M so already better than 10% cheaper unless I'm missing something :think:
