Mixed news about mystery wines.
Firstly I've got a £10 code that came in the post with a very nice booklet and on topcashback the cashback is up to 4.04 for the next few days :j
so I had a look at mystery wines on the Tesco wine website and the normal £36 boxes were not listed - even when out of stock they are always there.
As I was ringing them anyway I also asked why they were no longer there- thinking that they might no longer be stocking them. Indeed they are no longer stocking them and the £48 mystery boxes are now the normal price
He said that the £36 boxes had been the same price for years and it was ridiculous to have wine for that much.
so much for having free delivery and a £10 wine code.
so the new base line price for wine is £4 a bottle :eek::eek:
a 25% increase - so if you have a nice wine hoard now of £3 bottles treasure them and eke them out.
Asda often has good wines on offer 3 for £12 eg the very recent Yellow Tail offer which was kindly matched by Tesco.
So buying 12 random mystery bottles for £48 is even more of a gambol - if most of your box is box standard £5 to £7 Tesco "finest" everyday bog standard wines then its not much of a saving or an offer.“Create all the happiness you are able to create; remove all the misery you are able to remove. programme and article here re Should people be eating more fat? something I mentioned a couple of times previously...that you need to eat fat to lose fat!
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/magazine-29616418
You can watch Trust Me, I'm a Doctor on Wednesday 15 October at 20:00 BST on BBC Two or catch up afterwards on iPlayer
Quote from that article:
"One reason for this may be that fat is extremely satiating, so when people cut it out of their diet they consciously or unconsciously replace the calories with something else, often refined carbohydrates like white bread or pasta."
It's true, Since I switched from margarine to butter I don't snack as much and since I've been having coconut oil I've slowly been losing weight without even trying. I used to feel hungry most of the time but don't anymore :cool:0 -

Dad had a minor op today but they messed him around with the time of it so he's basically been there all day. It's not serious but it's always a worry

Yes I know I usually make my own Pasta Bake, far more taste but it was a case of needs must today and I did have a 60p mailing (well two actually)
Far better for £2 in Asda but we have to pay for parking and its further into town so you have to fight with traffic ...
carrots, parsnips, potatoes and Rocha pears - I only ever buy the odd filler veg in Tesco but I thought I would use up my Orchard MOCs and the nice till person scanned them allSavvybuyer wrote: »800g Pasta Bake £3.68 in A? 400g £2.00?
Speaking of ready meals, given that the M ones went up in weight - and went outside of the weight range:( - I have some smaller ones - takeaway ones - at 385g and on offer in M. Doubt they will compare to those from T PP/APG though... (booger when they were comparing the 'wrong' ones, that we wanted to compare and they did, but now they are even more not comparable, we want for the correct ones to compare (takeaway vs takeaway) but they probably do not).
Of course, they don't sell loose parsnips in M at £1.29/kg do they?:rotfl:
The 1Kg carrots have gone N/A vs M though - probably right, even though we'd hope for previous price in M (from when they were stocked) - at least to help (non-N.I.) customers of T whose shopping was otherwise cheaper, or nearly cheaper, in M - 69p on 1kg previously.
There are 1.2Kg carrots in M at 49p! Works out much better, subj. to womble paying and cond.spends outstriping etc., than T or A. I hope the 1Kg A carrots, given that they are 57p rather than a bit higher, now go N/A vs M rather than comparing to 69p and losing out. I couldn't find any 1Kg carrots in M today (expected at 69p), instead only the 1.2Kg carrots now, at 49p. So I hope the 1Kg A carrots go N/A and stop losing money for us vs M on the wombles.
The 1.2Kg carrots in M (unusual maybe for a weight increase and a price reduction!:D:T) should not be put on a Match & More shop - as 1Kg is within the weight range there, for Match & More purposes.
Outside of weight range on APG and T PP. Inside of weight range on M M&M. We do not want 49p vs 68 or 69p for A and 96p:eek: for T on M match & more. 1Kg carrots in Aldi more expensive too, so no 1.2Kg carrots on Mvs Aldi. Unless 1Kg carrots are not sold at all by Lidl, then it would not be good on any Mvs comp. Only if Lidl does not stock, would they then, potentially, be Mvs Lidl. In short, if buying the excellent-priced 1.2Kg carrots in M, just buy them separately! Also :money: don't need to be spending £15 then:rotfl::rotfl:;):rotfl:.
A 1kg carrots - A 57p vs Sains 60p? Not 10% cheaper. Still more expensive than M ones, but may help if using wombles to pay in A or if no M near you (or for N.I. etc.).“Create all the happiness you are able to create; remove all the misery you are able to remove.
