Just reading back and I see a mention of P Pal, I would just like to tell you of my experience yesterday, I had an email from pp telling me they tried to take a payment from my bank for £450 converted to US dollars,to make a payment to xxxx who had requested it,( I do have the e mail address) the bank refused as not enough funds,( I only keep a float of about £20 in that bank acc.) looking at the e mail I thought it was a scam but seeing as they used my full name I decided to read it all,I phoned pp who were most helpful and came to the conclusion somebody had got my p/w for pp and did the transaction.nobody knows my passwords at all, upon there advice I have now changed my p/w, i also spoke to my bank who said if the funds had been in the account the cash would have gone to pp as requested, now I'm thinking... Could this be an inside job as nobody could possibly guess my p/w.

It happens. I had an issue earlier this year - luckily I caught it as my account settings meant I got notifications - change of address, password, bank account deleted ... a string of emails and I just happened to be looking at my phone early in the morning as they came through. Quickly phoned PPal and they blocked the account before any payments could be made :).

Still no idea how they got access as no other accounts compromised and no viruses etc.
