It happens. I had an issue earlier this year - luckily I caught it as my account settings meant I got notifications - change of address, password, bank account deleted ... a string of emails and I just happened to be looking at my phone early in the morning as they came through. Quickly phoned PPal and they blocked the account before any payments could be made .

Still no idea how they got access as no other accounts compromised and no viruses etc.
