  • Mine was The Cure when I was 14. I was a goth and no one I knew liked that music so I went on my own :p

I done a few gigs on my own in my younger years as well. No fear back then, you know everything! Considering I had to travel over a hundred miles and then stay over, it's a bit  really :rotfl:
Can safely say I'll not be letting my DD do that!

Sorry if already known, not paying attention to gift sets.

:rotfl:I always post stuff and then discover it was already well-known!:(:rotfl::rotfl:
I've no idea whether this is or is not already known, as I've not caught up(:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:).

Thanks for letting us know! If we didn't know before, we know now:T:T.

The Impulse "set" - I noticed it was £4 and allegedly worth £9!
:rotfl: Well... in effect, it has one small can of deodorant in it ("worth" 20p in my view as that's how much I'd pay for small cans like that, and using the Soft & Gentle from ages back as a guide) and a nail vanish (normal price of those, on their own, in stores is £1, so 10% cheaper than £1 = 90p). I make the total worth for the set as therefore about £1.10:rotfl:.

I know if you have a fancy dinner set, with all the plates present, that that is worth more than if you have a piece missing. The whole is worth more than the sum of the parts there. However, I do not agree that this situation is the same. Gift sets, for example, are often overpriced compared to the purchasing the items in them as individuals. Yet people place more value on receiving a set, with fancy packaging, than an individual shower gel and a deodorant for example. I think it's brand hypnosis to a degree again, as well as neurotypical snobbery about having, what is perceived as, a fancy set (and objectively I have no opinion on the matter about whether or not it is such a thing:rotfl: - FC discuss:D:rotfl::rotfl:). I place no premium whatsoever on material things - I suspect part of the appeal of a 'gift set' is emotional.

I'm glad I got mine for about 45 or 50p (including cost of fillers) but, yes, a Haribo a day counts as one of my five a day:rotfl:(not really!;)). I do "use" (eat) the Haribos so they aren't totally valueless!:D

Useful again in having a current trigger to help get two useful oils!

My concern about this kind offering by Mr A was more that the individual price of the JFs might go down from £9.99 and make the whole thing useless rather than the Impulses as such appearing. They worked tonight, but they might be on there in a few days - I think that double pound sign doesn't work as such, as they'll still I think appear on msm, when they do, sadly inevitable I feel, and may pick up the A mbuy at that point. Or - I think we've seen situations like this before (for example I think my very first post back in 2012:j), they might become a visible trigger, but might miss the mbuy in conjunction with the rest - and therefore everything full price but JFs £9.99 vs £6.00 M [x2] and Impulse £4.00 vs N/A. In effect reducing by one the number of fillers you'd need to buy. We'll need to see what this looks like, if/when it goes onto msm. (I think, from past experience, it might not appear for a number of days yet - although don't chance it, check each day to see it isn't there!):)

You've reminded me of something I inadvertently came accross whilst online muggle shopping when I was poorly recently.

As now have a 'Big night In Bundle' available. It consists of a pizza, a 2l bottle of Pepsi, a bag if Doritos and a bag of cad choc giant buttons. It costs £4.25.
..........the cost of those items individually is £4.25 :rotfl::rotfl:

    What's the point??

When they do this 25% off do they take account of that in the M prices for Match & More or do they compare from M at full prices each:j and versus each of them cheaper at a competitor?

Sorry savvy, I have no idea I was wondering the same thing myself :o

I think these are v t's, am i correct please? thanks
    .

Yep Bubbs, v T. Many thanks to Tiger who put a list up a few days ago, I copied and pasted it into a spreadsheet and added a couple of columns to show the sada price and whether it is half price in T and their price. I like to get the best out of the APGs so went for the larger price difference between the 2 stores. Little sis came with me today and she fancied getting the D Beckham Homme gift set with her Aussie trigger and she only got £2.46 back as the difference in price between A and T is only £2 whereas the price difference with Tresemme I got is 3.50. Around 1400 GCHQ staff, both civilian and military, worked together to create a giant poppy in the centre of the iconic GCHQ 'doughnut' building in Cheltenham, to launch The Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal in Gloucestershire County this year.

The poppy, representing Remembrance of the past and hope for the future, was created using Royal Navy personnel wearing black uniforms to form the centre. They were surrounded by GCHQ staff in red rain ponchos and other military personnel in green combat dress to form the stalk.

    Evening to all still here.
Hope everyone is well as I have only managed to skim read through today.

My DS told me the other day he has a friendly football game in College arranged for the 11th, those doing his course against some sports students.
As him and his mates are Public Services Students I was thinking it would be a good idea to find a poppy seller with a roll of stickers and give them a donation to get stickers for the team to put on for the match. And then out of the blue tonight I opened our free local paper and read about these.....

    http://poppies4kits.co.uk/

So I went on there and bought 15 for his team.

    PERFECT :T
