Oh my love, so sad..
I know it is so easy to let things slide, but friends and/or close colleagues should take the time... my mantra is 'do as you would be done by'!
Pip
I briefly read some of the 'friend' conversation in attempting to catch up. My 3 real friends in the world would agree that I am a terrible friendI am appalling at getting in touch with people
and can often go many months without contact.
But that's why they're still my friends. They know that, they accept it and they'll be my friends no matter how crap I am
As for 'work friends' I do think you see people as friends when you work with them. They're not, they're colleagues and you're friendly because you spend a third of your day with them. i find when the common bond of not sharing those hours Isnt there, you realise that they are just colleagues.0 -

[2] No, it wouldn't get to me - I could stop. It is the obsession though, and really I need medical treatment:D:rotfl:. Thanks for what you say, it is useful:). The little bit 'overloaded' was more last week (a week ago last Monday) and I'm over it and ready for Monday. Maybe I should give it a week or two off:o:o. It's pretty harmless though, although it does determine what I am doing on certain days (and I schedule other things around it, on other days - maybe that's an obsession problem:() but on the other hand it does provide structure and a timetable and maybe that's what I like as well as providing a reason for me to do something on those days. Perhaps I shouldn't, perhaps it's an obsession (perhaps the perhaps reflects a failure by myself to recognise it and that is itself a reason why it is) but on the other hand it's a darn useful obsession to have and it's pretty harmless. It also, in the past, provided me with distraction and happiness that I needed to avoid a depressive episode. It gets me away from the normal mundane depressions of life that affect normal people and provides an enjoyment for me during times that would be depressive for others.
In fact, right now, with little to do, there isn't much going on here at home - having quite nasty weather at the moment and not much needing to do in the house - I'm feeling a tiny bit 'down' (don't worry, I'll cope!) and would rather be at Morries right now having a nice relaxing walk through the stores and looking at items. The TV is pretty boring tonight - even the News Channel is getting a bit boring tonight. It's usually repetitive anyway, which fits in with me, meant to be watched for 15-20 minutes and tune out rather than all the time like I do, but I just have quite a bit more staying power than the average person and eventually I get bored and move onto something else.
I shall rephrase thenif ever you do have busy times in your real life where you are overloaded, we would all understand if you took a break from Morries
I get the routine/obsession thing and I also get that it's something that helps you avoid things like depressive episodes. I do understand it. I just have also noticed you 'overloading' yourself on occasion. Not often. But I get told to take it easy when Im doing too much......so Im just passing advice on0 -
