yes. Experian. Equifax. Call-Credit.

You can get your Call-Credit report for free via Noddle.
Credit 'Score' - Don't buy the credit 'score' that Experian, Equifax and Noddle want to sell you. It's an arbitrary number that means nothing when it comes to applying for credit.

ALWAYS HAVE A DIRECT DEBIT SET UP FOR THE MINIMUM PAYMENT ON YOUR CREDIT CARDS, REGARDLESS OF WHETHER YOU PLAN TO LOGIN AND PAY EACH MONTH.
• Hi everyone,

I am due to get a cheque from Lloyds for a PPI refund which will completely clear all my debts, I was planning on closing my credit card and cancelling my overdraft in full, however due to a horrible ex girlfriend hitting my credit score I was wondering if this is such a good idea, should I keep my credit card, reduce the rate to a couple of hundred and just use it for netflix or something similar?

Your advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks
Steven

If you want to build or maintain a good credit history, regularly using and paying off a credit card is a good way of doing it.

Yes, keep one credit card, reduce the credit limit on the card to say £250 then set up a direct debit for the FULL amount. Only use it for things you would buy anyway.

That's correct kingstreet, not being registered on the Electoral Roll could be an issue when trying to obtain credit, as kingstreet has mentioned if you happen to notice anything incorrect on your Experian Credit Report you can contact us here and we would be more than happy to query this information for you.

Obtain all three versions of your credit file a couple of times a year to make sure there are no errors

As you have confirmed you've signed up for free trials offered by the CRAs, if you would like me to take a look at your Experian Credit Report please email me your details and I will take a look to see if there is anything impacting your credit report when applying for credit.

Kind Regards

Best to start your own thread. It just gets confusing with answers to you and to the OP getting interleaved.
