Dont think anyone has a chance as their T&C clearly state Guide Price only and the the price you pay is the price in-store at time of delivery so unless these are scanning at 1p then you will end up being charged the correct price.

This is to cover them for price changes but obviously you shouldn't be sent goods that you reserved for 1p and are then charged at £1.99. This happens now and again and as long as you aren't greedy they have always refunded the difference to me.

Thanks OP - worth a punt at 1p i say.
Make sure you chose no substituation when ordering.
If they charge more i will simply refuse delivery and get a refund, but i'm guessing this is a discountinued product and has only been reduced to 1p so the stores can waste them - waiting for the cancellation phone call now

Ok, 1p is a good price for a roll of kitchen towels, but taking advantage by ordering 50 or 99 packs of the stuff isn't money saving, that's greed. People that don't have bank cards or credit cards will miss out, because greedy people will take all the stock.

This is not money saving. Nobody here woke up this morning and thought they would have to buy 99 packets of kitchen towels today. One poster has even said that they don't know where they would store them! Why buy that amount, then?

I notice greed quite a lot on this board, where it turns from saving money into grabbing what you can and therefore, spending money that you hadn't planned to. You don't save money if you spend it, no matter what you buy.

Martin Lewis is the head honcho here, so he should be having a look at these boards. For every act of greed, his credibility diminishes.

This is a money saving site, not an exploitation site, I think.

I've ordered 50 this morning and got a call from my local Tesco saying are you sure that you want order 50 and I said yes. She said if you want to order such qty I have to ring the store in the future.

My delivery is tonight so will find out how much i have been charged. if they have charged me the full amount, i am gonna refuse the delivery.

just have to wait and see what happens

Nobody has actually ordered 99. Those guys are just messing around cos they know it winds people up around here. Anybody on these boards knows how Tesco works, and they know this aint gonna happen!

I bought 3, I actually need kitchen rolls, but usually buy the cheapest available, so just in case i also added a tesco one. If they charge me more for the bounty ones i will return to driver, but im crossing my fingers! Now that's a bargain!

I just read this. So, in case they end up charging the full price, what do you suggest?
    1) To return to the delivery man straight away, or
    2) keep the items and then call CS and ask for the difference to be refunded?

Second choice obviously means you still keep the bargain in case they accept to refund. But you also risk not getting it and paying for something you only bought because you thought it a bargain, hence losing out, if that makes any sense.

    Many thanks!

    .

Can you please step down from your soapbox now?

You've defined *your* version of moneysaving, but care to explain how buying 99 packs at 1p when they're normally say £1.50 *isn't* moneysaving?!

Sure, I didn't wake up this morning thinking "hmmm, today I need to buy 99 packs of kitchen roll", but with such a saving on offer....why not stock up with a couple of years supply?! Are you saying you never buy cheap stuff out of season because you don't *need* it at that time & better to lety others have it?

Also, this wasn't a money making scheme...ie I can't really imagine selling kitchen roll on Ebay! It was for (long term!) personal use...I ordered within the rules (it's for Tesco to restrict numbers.....*not* the customer). I can just imagine you saying "No, leave some for others", if you could buy nanopods for a quid at Currys! I think you ought to go & live in North Korea with such a naiive commy stance!

And to the other poster who said ordering 99 packs isn't possible...it most certainly is (was?) cos I did it this morning, but like I say I then cancelled.
