Forgotten Mortgages Details

Afternoon everyone apologies if this has been asked before but I was wondering if anyone knew how I could find my mortgage history. I have probably re-mortgaged my current house about 3 times since I have been there and I have thrown the details of my old mortgages away. Just need to know if there is a record anywhere that will show the history of mortgages on my house?
Thanks in advance

Firstly you could phone the mortgage lender see what info they still hold about your old accounts. Send a SAR, request transaction histories which can be great source of reference numbers, including the start and finish dates of mortgages and loans, proof of payments, and check old current account bank statements.
Banks vary in what they retain on customers records, they tend to destroy documents six years after the account closed unless you are still have an active account with them.0 -
In additiopn to the above, the lender may not even know if you had PPI. Most MPPi is standalone and put in place by third parties. one of the few reasons why most MPPI complaints fail.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). That maybe true about failure when the complaint is referred to the FOS, but 50% of MPPI complaints are upheld at the original complaint stage according to the FCA, so to say most MPPI complaints fail is a little misleading0 -
Thanks for your advice guys but I don't even remember who I took my previous mortgages out with so sending in a SAR is impossible. I was hoping someone like the Land Registry would have previous mortgage details but I am not sure what to request from them?
Thanks

Have you got a link to that data as that breakdown doesnt appear in the FCA complaints stats. They break it down by company type. The closest you can get out of those stats is mortgage broker with an overall complaint upheld rate of 32%. However, that is not PPI specific but any complaint about a mortgage broker activity (which could range from service, charges, life assurance, MPPI, mortgage etc)I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). However, this only relates to larger firms.
The OP still has to establish whether they ever had MPPI at all and who sold it.0 -
not sure how long they last on your record but you could try the equifax or experian credit agencies. it will cost a little to join but this may show what your looking for.fatblokexl:EasterBun:0

if you go onto Land Registry website it tells you which form to download and fill in depending on the date the property was "transferred" purchased by you. Your request will be processed quickly if you can find the title register number. On the form you ask for "Charge" lender details and title, it costs around £7.00.
Hopefully, they will be able to locate the original mortgage details and sometimes an account number. Have you checked old bank statements which might tell you who the lender was?0 -

You don't need to join, just use the free trial (or noddle (call credit) for free) or, if you have used the free trial, the £2 report will give you all you need - do not pay them for a "service" that is worthlessSam Vimes' Boots Theory of Socioeconomic Unfairness:
People are rich because they spend less money. A poor man buys $10 boots that last a season or two before he's walking in wet shoes and has to buy another pair. A rich man buys $50 boots that are made better and give him 10 years of dry feet. The poor man has spent $100 over those 10 years and still has wet feet.
