O/S Daily Thread Tuesday 14th October

This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred. When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” is fine.

Good morning everyone
Another hi and fly visit but at least there is no spam bot to contend with this morning.
Well wishes for all sick people and pets and hugs for those that need or just want them. Keep well and safe and have a lovely day.

Morning everyone
Birthday wishes to those celebrating a birthday, hope you have a great day x
Hugs and get well wishes to those that want/need them.
Still dark, but I can’t hear rain hitting the windows or the wind in the trees, but the forecast doesn’t look particularly good, hopefully not as much rain and wind as yesterday though.
DH up and gone to work stupid early. DS1 up and getting ready for work.
Dinner last night was roast pork loin, mash, HG green beans, carrots, broccolli, peas and gravy – was delicious and enjoyed by us all. Tonight the hairdresser is coming so it’s fish, chips and beans for the menfolk, I’ll have fish, jacket potato and veg.
The visit from my work was fine, they stayed about 45 minutes, but when it was booked it was before I went back to the hospital so it was hoped that we would be discussing my back to work plan and phased return – but as I’m not out of plaster yet, that can’t be discussed. But at least they’ve been so the visit has been done.
My parents rang from their holiday abroad last night to see how we were and had I got my plaster off they seem to be having a good time.
We have a nice frozen food store opening in the out of town shopping outlets in our town today – the site used to have a MrT on it, but that’s been demolished and re-built further along the same road and the old site now has several smaller retail outlets on it, today’s is the first 1 to open, there’s another 1 either (that’s a Poundland type shop I think) later this week or next.
Take care x
Keep safe and well x

Morning all,
Cold and still dark here not sure if its raining, it rained most of the day yesterday the car park and the lane up to work are flooded so I hope it holds off today.

Morning all
Everything wet outside, but it isn't actually raining at the mo and it's not too cold either.
I bought DS2 a new game for his pc but it couldn't run because his graphics card isn't a high enough spec, so he wants to go and buy a new graphics card this morning! I will only buy a cheap one as he will be using online tutorials to fit it and it might go wrong...
I have a drs appointent later as she wants to see how I'm getting on with my pills. They make such a difference, I feel like the old me of 20 tears ago.
I'm hoping this predicted mini heatwave arrives because I want to do a sheets wash!
Have a good day all, hugs to those in need xx0 -
Morning everyone.
Yesterday was glorious here, though today may not be. There is a thin layer of mist hanging over the sea just like the smoke used by TV shows. Smoke on the water... :rotfl::rotfl:
Feeling better and really enjoying a rest, thanks for the wishes.
Today I'll need to go shopping again, just for some vegetables and milk. No other plans apart from a walk when the mist clears from the sea and canal. It's half term here so there are some yachts going through the canal. Oh, and hand in the sheaf of paper work to the council for the new job, such a lot of forms to fill in. Work is just casual so no promises. Still, I'm excited by it.
Good vibes going out to those who need them.
Happy Tuesday0 -
Morning
I don't think it's stopped raining at all yet. Good weather for ducks.
Off to Autism parenting course this morning and then I need to nip to Ald* for the weekly shop. Also need to pop to the farm shop as now we are in October I am hoping they have some nice big bags of dirty spuds.
Tea tonight is tuna and potato layer. I made some scotch pancakes last night so will have a couple of those for quick breakfast before I head off out the door.
Need to fit in the BM going in at some point and the WM.
Hugs and spoons all round xx have a great day everyoneI have a gift for enraging people, but if I ever bore you it'll be with a knifeLouise Brooks

Morning all,
Popping in real quickly before I head off to my parents to help care for mum while dad has some time to do shopping etc.
So dark, it is hard to wake up!
I am going to try and post daily as it does help in keeping me on the old style path.
Have pork chops out of the freezer for tonight's dinner. Not sure what to do with them yet as have not got any potatoes, but plenty of rice. Thinking cap on here!
Must go, take care all.
Back later.

It's about time I started posting again instead of just reading
Best wishes and thoughts for anyone who is poorly.
Rushed around like a mad thing this morning as started work early and will be going out straight from work tonight.
Going to this http://www.bibelot.co.uk/ai1ec_event/crochet-charity-evening/crochet-for-charity-poppies/ I went last year, can't remember how many poppies I made though.
Need to rummage in the freezer when I get home for something for tea tomorrow as OH will be home, then on Thursday we are off to spend a few days with an old friend and her OH looking forward to it as I don't see that much of her since I moved 11 years ago and it's good to stay in touch.
Enjoy your days, whatever you are up too

Morning all,
the weather is awful, I'm so glad I'm not going out in it.
Not much to do in the house today but hubby wants to lower the cost of our broadband so i'll be looking into it. Not sure when our present contract finishes though. Nothing will hurt by looking.
I'll be searching for ..... don't laugh.... black, lace footless tights too.
Not sure what to do for tea tonight, not sure of anything really.:)
Onwards and forwards,
