I have come into a free source of logs, I have about 4 tons stored already for the open fire, but I was thinking about investing in a log burner.
I want to plumb it in to the central heating system so that I can burn FREE logs and convert the heat into hot water for the central heating system... Anyone got just such a thing...
Oil at £400 a tankfull, it will save me a bundle...

this is much more complicated in reality
you will need to replace your hot water storage tank (if you have one) with one with two coils
you will need to run pipes from the wood burner to the hot water storage tank
as far as i'm aware you then need to have one radiator that will get rid of too much heat in the storage tank
as far as i'm aware you can only connect one rad upto this
i have spoken to quite a few people on this....who all ummed and arred about how complicated it was in reality
in the end i gave up0 -
this is about as far as i got
