pantum 2010 anyone buy it from link on here?

Hi

guys I bought the pantum 2010 from a link on here and it was excellent to start with but has now refused to print keeps saying print spooler not working

any ideas? or anyone recall the place we bought them????

This is a monochrome laser printer if I remember correctly that was (still is) available from Home Bargains for £29.99 at the last count.

Is this a printer error message ? Or on the PC?

Only the "spooler" that I know is a software function of the operating system which means it's a PC problem.

In the advanced properties you should be able to turn spooling off. Might be worth a try to see if this resolves the situation.

Or you could disconnect the printer, uninstall/delete it from Windows, reconnect the printer and let the Add New Hardware Wizard reinstall it.

Or find the printer in Device Manager and try to update the driver.

my computer skills are not up to doing either! where is advanced properties and where then is spooling.

also how do I remove the existing printer? thanks

First question is what version of Windows are you running?

Then what EXACTLY is the error message?

Then probably a Google to see if you can find the same combination reported and what the fix methods were that solved it.

Presuming that you have one ....

Click START button bottom left and then MY COMPUTER from the choices

Then either HELP on the top row and pick ABOUT WINDOWS

OR (if you get this) in the left-hand panel

under SYSTEM TASKS click on VIEW SYSTEM INFORMATION (General Tab details)

Either/both should tell you what you need to know.

windows 7 thanks some info!! then it says error the local spooler is not working restart the spooler service. under advanced propertied giraffe says above but can't find it yet!

You could try going to

CONTROL PANEL
v
v
PRINTERS and FAXES (maybe View Devices & Printers?)
v
v
then in left-hand panel TROUBLESHOOT PRINTING
OR
Select Pantum 2010 printer and RIGHT CLICK > TROUBLESHOOT

I'm not familiar with Win7 so don't know exactly what these produce but should give at least some further information.
