I'd contact Paypal immediately if I was you and explain the situation. You might nip it in the bud rather than have it drag on for days.0 -
I really don't understand why people think others would sell a brand new £1800 item for less than half price?! £800 is a lot of money to take a chance on.

Because they know or believe it to be stolen is one reason.0 -

I heard this on Radio 4 yesterday and unfortunately I think you have been scammed.
The scam involves "dealers" contacting people via job sites, getting them to sell expensive cameras on eBay for them, sending the sellers the auction descriptions and then promising to deliver the cameras direct from their warehouse.
This is all done over PAYG mobile phone numbers.
They then get the seller to draw the paypal money out as cash and the dealers then send a "courier" to collect the cash from the eBay sellers.
Of course the cameras never arrive and the seller has all the flack at which point all the dealers mobile phones number is suddenly not in service.
The ebay seller is probably an innocent unsuspecting accomplice to this. Is suggest you message them at once and ask them if this is the case. Paypal will side with you and you will have your money returned (at least this was the case for the buyers in the report), but Paypal will go after the seller for the costs as it is against the T's & C's to sell items you do not have in your possession.
The example on the radio was a 21 year old female student who sold 6 cameras and owed Paypal £4400. Please contact them and let them know before the dealers "Courier" arrives to collect their cash! I would also tell them to have the police waiting for them when they arrive!
The signing off of the article was the old adage, "If it sounds too good to be true, then it probably is"!• The rich buy assets.
• The poor only have expenses.
• The middle class buy liabilities they think are assets.

I agree with Vacheron. This person has recently resurrected their account and bought seemingly small items to get some recent feedback. They have only left feedback for one purchase. They have zero as a seller.
They have apparently sold 4 cameras never having sold anything before. No feedback exists for those purchases. They are almost certainly all being sent out ( well say being sent out - empty box?) in one hit - and then the negative feedback will no doubt arrive. The pay within two hours suggests a very tight time frame for maximum fraud before its all discovered.
