My housing needs are being ignored

I would second the suggestion that you go to your GP for a letter of support.
When I needed to move - initially from sofa-surfing to social housing , then a few years later to sheltered housing - I obtained letters from my GP and my social worker. .......the first time I moved the letters had the effect of overnight moving me into the top band for housing!
Even though I made my housing needs clear to the council, some of the places I was offered were simply not suitable -( I need level access to the shower, one place had a shower with a 2 inch step up....and no grab rail either....when I pointed this out to the person showing me the flat, I was told 'oh it is just one step, can't you mange that?'!!!....) - you really need to be insistent (and struggle though it is sometimes, remain polite!)0 -
be fair.
indie may well struggle with 1 step, but can just about manage 3 with great effort.
in that case yes ..... 5 is a lot more than 3!
Indie recently ran a half marathon, I don't think it's the greater effort of two extra steps causing the problem.
I am genuinely interested in what the problem is though. You've repeatedly said in the running threads that you train on the roads whilst it's dark so why do a few familiar steps cause so many problems? Why do you train on the road if you're at constant risk of being run over?0 -
Indie, i am totally confused. On my thread about running, this is what you posted. I also recall you mentioning running half marathon and more outside. How can you manage such runs if your eyesight is so bad? Or are you a different poster?I tend not to take water with me unless I'm doing 6 miles+. It does also depend on what I've drunk over the last 24-48 hours too.
I do sometimes take money with me and get a drink on the way home. But it then means one long walk home!0 -
The same poster claims they take medication for chronic pain!?!? What i would like to know is how on earth can anyone run 6 miles+ and claim to be in chronic pain. I have a chronic pain condition and i struggle to walk just a few meters. I could never run and that's a fact! Things like this make me so angry, if someone really did suffer from a chronic pain condition they definitely wouldn't be able to run 6 miles+...Indie, i am totally confused. I don't know about the chronic pain but people with visual impairments usually run tethered to a guide or alongside a guide - maybe this is how indie is doing half marathons?0

Indie also has ASD I also was puzzled by her conflicting posts when I joined but since learning she has ASD understand. One of her disabilities is Autism and this shows very much in her posts and explains somewhat her posts, due to one of her disabilities. I have never read indie say her pain is limb based in any posts, it's possible to have severe pain that doesn't affect running.Tomorrow is the most important thing in life0 -

I have chronic back pain, but the one thing that brings me relief is walking - at speed and long distances. Our bodies can be a big old contradiction!0
