My housing needs are being ignored

Indie, we bought a ramp with handrails for MIL when her mobility issues started. Have you looked at those? Hers went in an L shape as the incline was steep, alternately if the paint works in the daylight then a PIR outside light or lights on the steps could help.
I don't think moving is as simple for you. Your severe disabilities and the amount of care and issues you face mean suitable options are very limited and they would have to ensure a care plan was in place too. It's not as straightforward as those with less needs.Tomorrow is the most important thing in life0 -

I didn't know those ramps existed, tbh. I've not really looked at anything because I have no idea where to start. The visual impairment team at social services did suggest some years ago to put the coloured paint on the steps.
We have, on one of the doors, a silver strip type thing that's used on fire engines. That may help. I seem to remember (it looks it anyway) it's got a different texture which isn't smooth. Although, I don't really know if that will help.Sealed pot challenge #232. Gold stars from Sue-UU - :staradmin :staradmin £75.29 banked

Seriously fed up now - I've been constantly emailing the housing team over my wish to appeal. I've not had a single response from them. Due to the problems I have with my ears, I can't use the phone.
Not going to bother getting my MP involved. I tried to get him involved with an issue a few years ago - he was useless. I was then informed that he is / was an ambassador for the company.
I don't have a social worker anymore; so can't get them involved. They were just as useless last time and ignored my needs completely and then went as far to accuse me of lying over various things.:mad:Sealed pot challenge #232. Gold stars from Sue-UU - :staradmin :staradmin £75.29 banked

Your current housing needs are already met. You want a wish-list of other things which are not needs. Its an inconvenient truth that there are never enough 'disabled friendly' dwellings to go round, and have not been for many decades. A different non confrontational approach by yourself to other agencies to improve the needs based fixtures & fittings of your current dwelling might bear more fruit, as might a 'transfer-swap' by your parents to a more suitable dwelling if your parents are willing to uproot their world and move elsewhere for your benefit.
Best of luck !Disclaimer : Everything I write on this forum is my opinion. I try to be an even-handed poster and accept that you at times may not agree with these opinions or how I choose to express them, this is not my problem. Yes of course my needs are being met - that's why I'm living somewhere where I am at serious risk of being run over, whichever route I choose to take. The council say I can only have a maximum of 3 steps - my parents house has 6 steps to their house.
You clearly don't know my situation, nor the difficulties I have. I suggest you keep your horrible comments to yourself. You have no idea what it's like to live somewhere where there's a huge risk of being run over EVERY SINGLE BLOODY DAY.
My parents will not be able to move.Sealed pot challenge #232. Gold stars from Sue-UU - :staradmin :staradmin £75.29 banked

Has an extra one grown? There were only 5 in your OP.
I'm struggling to understand what exactly it is that you need, and what you are expecting from the council. If your parents can't/wont move are you planning on living alone? Surely their house doesn't front into a busy road with no pavement? How are you more at risk of being run over there tha anywhere else? Are 5 steps so much more inconvenient than 3?Trying to be a man is a waste of a woman0 -
be fair.
indie may well struggle with 1 step, but can just about manage 3 with great effort.
in that case yes ..... 5 is a lot more than 3!

I understand you have good reason to say your MP is no good... but like all the other agencies you don't find helpful, something will have to give if you want to move so badly.
Perhaps that something needs to be you writing your MP/ contacting Social Services etc.
If you don't want to involve this person or that agency, how do you expect a move will happen?
I do mean this nicely, I have to swallow my revulsion and see a Dr again that nearly killed me through neglect!
One the subject did you see my suggestion of approaching your GP for a letter of support?0
