Are you OK with paying money for something you can't put in your salad ? It's stalk by the way
Couldn't agree more it's a waste of packaging. It's pity they can't make those ones the loose tomatoes. Or at least have a choice of loose real tomatoes or loose tasteless pretend tomatoes."She is quite the oddball. Did you notice how she didn't even get excited when she saw this original ZX-81?"

Why on earth would they taste better just because they still have stalks? I agree they look more jamie oliver, but once they are in the fridge does it really make any differance?
Probably not, as any decent chef will tell you never to put tomatoes in the fridge, as it wrecks the taste, even once they're brought back to room temperature.0 -
It affects the smell. By leaving the stalk on you can get the blandest tomatoes to "smell" of tomato. Then you pick the stem off and realise that it is the stem that smells of tomato and what you are left with is a red watery thing that has no taste, smell or discernable texture.

Yes, absolutely. The vines make the whole lot smell delicious, but the actual tomato has exactly the same amount of flavour (or lack of flavour) once you have removed the stalk.
Of course, it is possible that some merchants will supply higher-quality tomatoes on the vine than otherwise, or take more care about how they are transported. In much the same way that organic vegetables are generally no better than the equivalent non-organic ones, but often what is offered as organic is actually of higher quality than what is non-organic.0 -
