Conservatory Against Garden Fence?

I am thinking of installing a conservatory to the end of my terrace house kitchen extension, if I do this part of one side would run very close to the fence to my neighbours garden. I guess I could avoid this by having a bespoke conservatory with only two glass sides and the fence side brick built, but I really wanted an off the shelf cheapish option. Apart from making sure neighbour is happy and the practical issues of access is there anything else I should consider? Or any (cheap) way around this?

Full length conservatory blinds on the neighbours side perhaps?

You can buy fascia board the same size and thickness as a double glazed unit. Instead of putting glass in on the side of the fence, you can fit the fascia the same as you fit the unit. If you buy white upvc, the board will be a pane of solid white in the window instead of glass.

I've seen this method used a few times on conservatorys to block out a wall on one side.

Am sure that now you have to have privacy glass in your conservatory, if it is running along side your neibours fence, so should not be a problem for you x

If you don't want to install privacy glass there are films that attach to windows (like you see in vans etc) that do the equiv. to a one way mirror effect. You will find lots of commercial buildings have this on. IT does cut down the amount of light coming through though.

Would you be able to get between the conservatory and the fence to clean the outside of the conservatory?

If its a waneylap fence you can go in from neighbours side lift the panels half way up prop it with a bit of wood and get in like that. If not do it with a mop hanging over the fence. Hows that for some domestic godess advice :)
