    Good advice Folkiedave.

@OP - PTAS are an experienced organisation in dealing with private parking issues. Both founders are trustworthy members of this forum, former avid, regular contributors, who still contribute, but in view of the workload of their PTAS business are less frequent visitors at the moment.

If you've got the time to research, understand, have the urge to deal with this yourself (personal satisfaction) and generally get to grips with all this stuff, then you can save yourself the cost of a (very) few pints of beer.

If you haven't, and want peace of mind that someone is handling this for you, with a guaranteed successful outcome - then just access the PTAS website and take it from there.

While we do provide our time and advice f.o.c. on here, but with you doing the bulk of the work, I did find your comment above, which seemed to be expressing surprise that a business was charging a token amount to take away the worry of a potential ongoing pursuit against you for a £275 charge, somewhat strange.

Did you really expect someone to do this for you for free?
Is it going to cost me money? Ive read that some people have been asked to pay for their services for various companies>

PS - I am in no way connected with PTAS.
Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

Whatever this company will do for £16, you can do yourself for free, with the help of this forum, other than your time and effort.

As has already been said, that's quite correct.

And most of us involved with PTAS still do some work for free as well.

However, I don't have the financial wherewithal to say "I guarantee your ticket will be cancelled or we will pay it" and work for free.

£16 in the circumstances is a fair sum - it amounts to a lot less than you would pay a solicitor who also wouldn't guarantee a solution.

The Miah Solicitors appear to be sending out al large number of DCA letters for alleged contractual breaches. They are asking for rather large sums of money. Rather more in fact than they would be likely to be awarded should they prevail in a County Court.

They are making threats of possible court action, and in many cases people will no doubt roll over and pay up.

It is well known that solicitors soften charge very high hourly rates for routine work which they delegate to the office junior, but this lot take the garibaldi.

Given the murky past of one of the consultants, are we not according the newly formed company too much respect?

Should we not just be ignoring them? Should we be writing letters of complaint to Trading standards and the SRA?

It would appear my signature has some issues too :)

Some of us now have had their roles redifned in tackling parking charges and are now branching out due to new developments.

I am now a trustee for BMPA.
