Sky Magic Eye question

I'm looking to move the TV to a new room where I don't have space to put the Sky HD box. In the past the Magic Eye thing allowed you to control the channels with the box kept elsewhere.
Is that still the way to go? As I noticed the magic eye didn't have a HDMI connection, or am I missing something?

You will not get HD...and it's a little fuzzy. It's an analog signal broadcast on a co-ax cable so you will suffer analog signal degradation over the distance. If you want a HD signal you'll need to move the box.:footie:

For HD you either need to move the box OR fit an HDMI extension to the second room. The HDMI extension can take many forms from merely a long HDMI lead (which will also need the magic eye setup to control the box) to converting HDMI to cat5/6 cable to second room and back to HDMI there. There are also HD videosenders.
So it is not true that you have to move the Sky box.
For more details on extending the signal see the many posts on the subject on this forum - https://www.avforums.com/forums/sky-forum.261/0 -
As well as using the UTP/Ethernet cabling or wireless mentioned above, you can still send HD over coax the same as previous magic eye set ups, you will need to purchase hardware such as:

Or via the wall sockets similar to Homelink plugs.
None of this stuff is anywhere near as cheap as SD yet though.
Are you sure there is nowhere for the box to go? remember it does not need to be horizontal.0
