Which 7-seater has the 'automatic parking' feature?

May I ask this question?

This 'automatic parking' feature may have different names depending on which brands. But essentially the car will park itself when it comes to parallel parking. BMW, KIA and Ford, among others, have this feature in some of their cars.

Do you know which 7-seater has this feature? Could you pls advise?

Thank you

One gimmick i am not overly impressed with. Some systems are fully auto and watching some of the mags and journalists test them leaves a lot to be desired.

Some park too far from the kerb and some have damaged wheels on the kerb.

Some of the ones where you have to position your vehicle on the display into the space you want can take too long. Someone could steal your space nip into a shop and be gone by the time you master it.

Just learn to parralel park. It'll be a whole lot cheaper and quicker.

I wouldn't pay extra for such a feature but if someone else wants it and it stops them damaging my car then go for it!

Still quite rare though as I have only ever seen it as a option so the OP would have to look at ordering a car to their spec

I have seen cars from many manufacturers offering it including Citroen Picasso and VW group cars such as the Tauran. I would suggest looking at car company web sites, such details are usually in downloadable brochures or you can add them when configuring your own car

Why not just learn to park. It is no harder in a seven seater than any other car. Ever heard of Google OP?

VW call it "park assist" and you can find it on the VW Sharan and the Seat Alhambra (2011 onwards) BUT it's an optional extra on all models as far as I can recall.

I imagine that there have been similar calls of derision every time new technology has been added to a motor vehicle... pointless extras such as starter motors, electric lights, front brakes, windscreens etc.

My grandfather couldn't understand why my father paid extra for a heater in his first car. What's wrong with wearing an extra sweater?

None of those have anything to do with actually driving a car though. Knowing where your car is in relation to others and knowing how to safely out it where you want to put it should never be automated.

Disagree, although it's not a feature I would pay for, there is obvious evidence that some drivers could do with some assistance.

Nine responses and only one answered the question.

Why hijack the thread? If people wish to discuss the pros and cons they should start another thread rather than hijack this one.

The OP is asking for factual advice not gratuitous opinions.

The VW Sharan has the feature but you have to pay extra for it.
