NATWEST mortgage application

Was expecting my formal mortgage offer in post today so when it wasn't there decided to chase it up. Turns out they were waiting for me to pay arrangement fee before they can issue formal offer. No one has asked me for it!!
I am not a very forceful person and tend to wait for things but think when dealing with natwest you do need to check your application progress, my application would have been sorted quicker if I'd been more proactive!
Paid arrangement fee, offer should be with me in 2 working days!0 -
Think my broker must be sick of me already - and he might be happier than me if and when the mortgage gets offered - lol.
Glad it's sorted amylyn - just the legal side of things now!0 -
Thanks colmac71, searches taking up to a month round here, one hurdle over another one ahead! Good luck with your application.0

Hi all, after moving out app from Santander to Natwest (ended up BTLing our first house instead of selling and placing all with Natwest) our broker has told us that it has been underwritten - I have had a generic ID search on Experian from them, but no full credit search, did they use Experian for the full search for any of you?
Thanks0 -
hi billybear1,
I only subscribed to Experian and Equifax in preparation for the mortgage application, so I don't know what's been searched or not - I usually get an alert from Equifax every Friday but according to another page on this site:
http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/credit-cards/credit-reference
Natwest use both Equifax and Experian to search.0 -
I have had a full credit search done and a follow up search...Both showing on equifax..I don't know if they have searched any other of the credit ref agency's as I can't access them....I've not heard anything from natwest since either of the searches and these were a week ago..don't know if it's a good or bad sign0

Thanks all for the replies - I knew they used Equifax as well (from that very page) but only have access to Experian. Seems strange they would do ID check on Experian and not full search on it too - still, I guess full searches cost money and maybe they just did the one on Equifax as you said chances
.
Again guys, thanks0 -
Just checked equifax and I have had another follow up search from Natwest today...0

Hopefully chances that means you are nearing a decision on your mortgage application - fingers crossed0

Hi,
I thought I would join the conversation with my experience. I have switched to Natwest after Aldemore being particularly slow and offering much worse deal. It has been a whole month now and keep hearing that Natwest has got 5 days for each of the documents to review and here are the stages of reviews:
1) signed dd form sent off and payslip - 5 days to review + 3 days until I rang the broker to chase to find out they also want:
2) confirmation of property purchase (we raising deposit on this BTL) - 5 days to review
3) surveyor appointed - booked the next available, surveyor delayed sending off valuation by 3 days
4)Natwest reviewing valuation since Friday!
Is my application constantly being put at bottom of their pile or are they just that slow at the moment??
And yes, I agree with amylyn - you have to chase them to find out what they are waiting for.0
