Plusnet issues.

Plusnet are having severe technical issues at the moment.
My son rang to ask if my BB was working as his had gone down. We are both Plusnet customers.
I am connected via the Marks Tey exchange (which is actually in Copford) and have a connection, whilst he is connected via the Dedham exchange and has none.
According to Plusnet tech support the issue is down to a server hardware failure. As customers are spread across several servers not everyone is affected, but they did tell him that they had the same issue 2 months back and had to re-install the last back-up of the failed server on to a new one (which then failed 3 hours later).
They have informed hime that if they can get a server to work, then the effected customers will be back online around 20:00 tonight. However, they are not holding their breath based on the fact that they had to replace the server 3 times last time they had this isse.
Plusnet. Good old-fashioned service on good old-fashioned servers.

I lost my Plusnet broadband around 5.30pm. It was back on again about two hours later at 7.30pm. It's the 1st time since I joined them in March that I have had a problem with them. Hopefully this is a one off.0

Lost my connection at ~ 4:25pm ........reconnected about 5 minutes later and been up ever since.....but many people are still struggling to connect as per PN's own forum.0

I'm based in Northern Ireland and lost Plusnet service at roughly the same times as reported by others. I've been with Plusnet for three years and this is the first time it's happened.0

In Northumberland and no issues for me.0

No issues in EdinburghWhat happens if you push this button?0 -
There is a page of PlusNet customer ThinkBroadBand ping monitors maintained by them.

It seems that this outage must be pretty limited or short term as only one is showing the constant packet loss an outage would produce and the odds are it's because that router is powered down. Several show an outage of half an hour or so starting about 4:30PM yesterday.0 -
No issues at all here. Also in Scotland.0

I love the pretty pictures but have no idea what they mean.0 -
If you click on one of the pretty pictures there is a page of info.
In simple terms solid red means the customers router can't be contacted so it's either turned off or the connection is bust.0 -
It affected me. For all of a maximum of 10-15 mins. And I'm in North of Scotland. And 1st problem I've had since getting Plusnet for Broadband/Internet since Jan this year.0
