hi
i'm in the process of moving home, the new house as a brand new induction hob? never heard of it before.
however apparently i now need to buy some new pans, money obviously tight at the moment,
saw a basic set in argos for £32, are the bottom of the range set ok,
i do use my normal set quite regular so is it worth opting for a branded set at obviously more cost instead?

I got this set from John Lewis when we moved to a house with an induction hob. They are fab and I though £85 for a 5 pan set wasn't too bad.

Are you sure you need new ones - try a magnet on the bottom. if it sticks you can use them.0

The pans you need wont be in the 'basic price bracket'
Try a magnet on the bottom of the the ones you have, if the magnet doesn't stick, take them to the charity shop because they will never be any use to you.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -
tested and all not magnetic
to add to the puzzle, i only usually use 2 pans max + the frying pan, so basically i wouldn't use 2 of a set of 5
as i've said, up to yesterday i'd never even heard of an induction hob,
is this a Q of quality over quantity, read that some cheaper ones aren't as good, a pan is a pan to me, only thing i bought for quality is the frying pan (which is boxed up somewhere!)
don't mind paying a tad more for 3 quality items than 5 cheap0 -
We bought John Lewis Classic II (not the non stick version) as they have a 25yr guaruntee - but they're not cheap.
Maybe you could buy a few essentials and then expand later?0 -

that's looking more likely with money tight,
though i didn't budget on my current pans not compatible with new cooker,
perhaps they'll be an update soon for them :rotfl:0 -
Try Ikea, or a charity shop... Had the same problem when I fitted an induction hob: I thought my stainless pans would work, but didn't, so check the marking when you buy.0

We bought the Circulon Infinite Set from Amazon not the cheapest but very sturdy and in my view good value:-
