Heart Internet - Avoid renewal nightmare

Options
Basically heart internet runs a renewal scam which I'll explain. This is not an isolated case, just search google for 'heart internet renew' and read through many cases reported on forums along similar lines.

It has happened to me multiple times so now I'm trying to warn others. As a side note to this, using their website account management is a nightmare, avoid.

I've used at least 5 domain and web hosting companies. godaddy is a breeze and flawless. I'm not saying you have to use godaddy, just avoid heart internet.

Fraud: Online email scam by providing misleading information with credit card storage abuse

Summary:
Initially sell a cheap product, store credit card details, refuse to stop storing card details, mislead you into believing your subscription is expiring, re-charge your credit card at an inflated renewal price.

Further details:
The company sells cheap domain names for initial registration which entice you to buy from them.

The company then store credit information which they deem fine to make transactions on without authorization. Removing your card details is not possible without contacting the company. If you remove one card they will still take unauthorized payments using any other card details they have for you. After requesting to have all credit card details removed and state you don’t want any further unauthorized payments taken, they still continue to store card details and take payment.

Their accounts management system is organized purposely to make it near impossible to prevent you from changing any auto-renew settings. If you do manage to find out how to do it through the maze of pages, the settings don’t save or they reset them back to auto-renew enabling them to claim you always had it set to auto-renew.

When your domain is going to be auto-renewed they send out misleadingly worded emails to make you believe your domain is set to expire whilst having changed the settings of the domain. The email is worded: “A domain is about to expire - Domain: yourdomain.com!”. After 2 of these emails leading you to believe your domain is going to expire, they charge your credit card (after telling them to remove details and not process further transactions) and renew the domain at an inflated price.

Sorry, can't find anything remotely like that on their site.

The fiest sign of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again expecting different results.

Read the T's & C's, you signed a continuous payment authority, they are doing only what you allowed them to do.

Read what you signed up to, you have to cancel the account or they will just renew it for you.
