Aerial?

Hi, I'm thinking of changing from Sky to Bt for tv, phone and bb. We're in a very built up area and have never had much of a reception via an aerial but the sky dish works well. Does Bt need and aerial or will it use a dish? Sorry to sound silly but I haven't been able to find the info anywhere! The people before us had Virgin via cable so I guess that's an option.
Thanks for any help you can give

To watch live TV through BT you will need an aerial0
-
Thanks, that's what I feared0

BT uses broadband for the on demand services. The Freeview channels will require an aerial.
If you already have a Sky minidish, then Freesat is the obvious choice, just a straight box swap (Humax PVR) and no subscription required. No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -

So if I wanted to change to some sort of freeview tv I could use the sky dish but just connect a different box? Then I could change my phone/bb and plug it into freeview for catchup? Or could I only get catchup on my computer? Sorry, the technical revolution in home entertainment has almost passed me by!0

If you stop subscribing you will be able to watch the hundred or so free-to-air channels. This service is called Freesat from Sky .
You will still need to keep your Sky viewing card. If you stop subscribing on a Sky contract, you can keep using that card to watch 5USA, 5* and PICK TV, the so-called "free-to-view" channels. (All ITVchannels are free-to-air).0 -
And if you want to watch catchup than just use computer for iplayer, itv player, 4OD, 5OD.
And since you no longer pay anyone to watch free channels on sky box you are free to change BB/phone provider.0 -
Thanks for all your help0

They have been FTA for several years. Only about six channels are still FTV, including LFC TV, Motors TV and Sony TV.0
