You are in danger of turning a relatively trivial matter into a major drama.
Discuss it with your wife, and agree who was the most likely driver, and name him/her. Then in future keep records.
That is not the same as deliberately naming the wrong driver, which is clearly perverting the course of justice.0 -

So is his wife if she rings them.0 -

You or your wife or both were obviously going somewhere, and coming from somewhere. Have you checked your receipts from that day? eg. you may have been going shopping. What do you normally do on that day of the week?
Or you may have been visiting family or friends and they may remember who got out of which side of the car.
If your memory is really that bad then perhaps you shouldn't be driving.0 -
I would recommend a dementia assessment for both of you...just kidding.
I wouldn't make a mountain out of a mole hill. It will probably lead to a speed awareness course which isn't a big deal.0 -

Dave, The offence was in the last 2 weeks, probably nearer to the last 7-10 days. Check your bank records that day to see if it jogs your memory as to who was in the drivers seat, i.e. did you end up buying anything? Did you go to any appointments? When Mrs Dave calls the central ticket officer ask if they will send the photo to help you recall who was the driver or at the least if they can say if the driver was male or female. They may say no but it doesn't cost anything to ask. You could also always nominate yourself as the driver, plead not guilty, receive disclosure and when the photo is received if it is Mrs Dave retain your NG plea or if it is you then change your plea to guilty. The fine would be more and you wouldn't have the option of a speed awareness course.0

Hi all glad that site seems back to normal very strange this morning
OK wife phone up today to explain about who was driving, After the lady on the phone saying (like a robot) that its down to the register keeper to know where and who is driving the car at all times. She looked at the photo and said it didn't show the driver as it was a back shot. When my wife explained that we really didn't know who was driving. As My wife is my carer we are nearly always together. So to be 100% sure would be very difficult. So she said the only thing you can do is go to court, and the judge will decide who was driving. How can he do that pull straws. And then put the phone down.0 -
If it was 50/50 I'm sure it would just go down to registered keeper.
Get it sent off with a named driver before things get worse.
Is pretty much a fact of driving these days you'll get a ticket or 2.0 -
