Vent- the automated calls to do with boiler and solar panels

I have just deleted 10 messages on my 1571 option that were all part of the same automated message which is something to do with boilers and solar panels , the calls were from a variety of numbers /witheld/unavailable etc and had filled up the inbox over 3 days ( and we have inadvertantly answered some too)
Please shove your boilers and solar panels where the sun don't shine asap .

Sick of these as well - we seem to get at least one every day!

Why not get a call blocker. We picked one up for about £30, and it's cut about 80% - 90% of nuisance calls. You can block withheld numbers, international calls, and a few more.

And get a voicemail unit to save yourself £1+ per month that BT may be charging you for 1571.

You know it doesn't seem right to have to spend my money on another gadget to stop the flaming things . It has really ramped up in the last couple of weeks too .
My 1571 is free with my sky call bundle so I'll just keep clearing the message box.
Apparently the ico want to hear about these calls as some of the firms are breaking the law .

I had a load of these some months back but either they've stopped now or my call blocker has at last been programmed with all the numbers they are using. I object to having to pay for a blocker too but it evens up the odds a little in the battle.

As I mentioned in a thread I started on this myself a while back I did write to my MP about it as surely the telecoms providers should be forced to block these in some way - there must be a technological answer. Naturally all I got was a fob off. One I will remember come polling day....

I totally agree with your comments!

    These calls amount to harassment!

Why isn't the government doing something to stop these nuisance calls which are becoming more prevalent daily?

We will probably buy a phone with call blocker, but these firms shouldn't be allowed to get away with this!

You just feel bombarded in your own home and it's just not right !
I might have to get the call blocker at some point but will be carrying on with gritted teeth to see if it dies down .

Yes, I report anything with a number to ICO (and mobile spam texts to my provider - forward to 7726), but still heaps with Witheld or International numbers.

Because the government is paying them.

We get these calls most days as well and part of the message gets left on my 1571.

    Very annoying!
