Part of the Furniture 10,000 Posts Name Dropper Xmas Saver!
they wont remove, just amend the date
Don't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.

thanks for your response but that would be a complete waste of time.
The reason I know this is is because I rang up today and was told they have no recollection of receiving anything even though it has been signed for and confirmed with then that the correct address was used! I also got fobbed of, saying that I may have had to channel the letter to the correct depart e.g. "Recoveries" within the Finance management unit even though my account is closed and fully satisfied...
I was also told they have limited resources and could only tell me when the account was open and closed??? The list is much longer but won't boor you or myself any more so taking it up with the FOS when I get my breath back.
You would be well advised to take up the bank's offer. The FOS will not consider your complaint unless you have first exhausted the bank's own complaints procedure and they have written formally to you saying it is their final position.

take up the banks offer? what offer? The debt is fully satisfied.
All I want is the date amended which would effectively mean it drops off my file anyway.

Incidentally even after countless letters and waiting over 2 and half months for any response, I phoned up yesterday to complain and got nowhere (30 minutes +) and was told they have not received anything. I got home and there was a letter from Lloyds (so they DID receive the letters) but unfortunately they did not answer my queries to do with the default information. (standard fob off letter)

Not true. niblettr has waited 2 1/2 months - more than the required 8 weeks - from 1st complaining for a final response from the bank and has not had one. So under the ombudsman rules they can go ahead and take the complaint to the ombudsman without having to wait any more. They dont have to wait for a final response once 8 weeks from the initial complaint have elapsed.

Also, my credit file showed that the debt was not satisfied and still had a balance owing even though I satisfied it last February. The entry said it was last updated in September of this year? I queried this during the phone conversation and didn't quite understand the response as the she was waffling and going round the houses.

Just goes to show that Lloyds are very lackadaisical in updating peoples credit files especially on time. In the end she said it would be amended and back dated to the correct date of when it was paid off.

See, that was not so difficult. Now amend the damn default date!

GREAT NEWS, they have agreed to remove one of the defaults!! :)

Slightly better than I was hoping for, was only expecting to get just the date amended.

Now to chase them to amend and or delete the other one. This one has the dates even more screwed up but they seem to be defending this one more.

Are procedures different for logging Credit card defaults? (the remaining default on my credit file)
