How do I use Netstumbler? When I open it I get two internet connections, mine and some other one which I right clicked and deleted.

What shall I do with this?

on the left, it will show what channels are in use with your router, and any others it can find, when you click the scan (green triangle) button. what does it find?

another thing to check is that you have the latest firmware for the router, http://www.routerlogin.com then knowledge base, bottom left.

When I open Stumbler my internet connection goes bback to normal and everything is fine. Could it be because Windows Zero Configuration is disabled or something, when I opened stumble at first it said disabling windows zero configuration.

For some reason when I open stumbler everything is fine but when I close it all the troubles start again!

It's usually the reverse, ie netstumbler stops wzc, which stops the wireless, then when you close it, it restarts it.

Unless there are some hidden ssid's about, then your channel is well away from the homehub, so that looks ok. I'd try the firmware upgrade, and maybe switch to wpa, if that doesn't work, it may be something to do with the interface between netgear software and wzc, not sure what you could do apart from reinstall the driver. WZC usually works better than the netgear mgt software.

Thats the screen, the play button (Green triangle) is on. Shall I just leave this programme running?

I remember last time I had a problem with my connection I played about with the Windows Zero Configuration, how do I get to that? It was on a list I had to get to it via 'Run' and typing somethign in which I can't remember.

When I closed it earlier on the problem came back. However, just closed Stumbler again and everything seems fine, TOUCH WOOD!

I just hope it stays like that.

    Thanks albertross, you've been fantastic!
