T-Mobile / EE Line Rental Discounts
Hello
I have been with T-Mobile for several years now, and every time my contract is up for renewal they offer me a choice of either :
(1) A new Phone
(2) 10 pounds or so money off my monthly line rental for the new contract.
As I usually get a cheap phone from else where, currently an IPhone, so I usually just take the line rental discount always.
Now
My Contract is up for renewal again after 2 years, and now EE say they no longer offer the line rental discounts that T-Mobile always used to??
Is this correct?
Has anyone else managed to get a line rental discount from EE or T-Mobile? or tried?
Would be grateful for anyone's experience here.
Thanks in advance

I left them recently after a much longer period than you - vote with your feet
uSwitch had the best deals around and if you get messed about by EE over porting etc - go directly to the CEO by email - its the ONLY way to get anywhere0 -
Still having no luck getting a line rental discount, that was always on offer from Tmobile in the past.
Just rang up yesterday, and no luck.
Have decided to move, will see what the competition have to offer.
Tmobile / EE is being very short sighted I feel. I would have been happy to stay for just the usual £10 discount.
Time for something new0 -

I just upgraded to 4GEE from T mobile on the phone though as going via online chat got me nowhere, got the Galaxy S5 with unlimited mins/texts and 4gb of data for £34, On the site this deal is £44, told them tesco did 500/5000 and 4g at £35 and asked them to beat it or i move, she was really nice, i have been with tmobile for 11 years.0

I renewed a sim only contract with T mobile in June and got a decent discount. I renewed my daughter's phone at the same time and didn't get anything better than they were offering on their website. Something to do with the deals we were on already. Across the piece it was still ok, so I just kept them both.0

Loyalty deals are on their way out... and rightly so. Why should someone pay £10 a month less than someone else for the same deal?I spent 25 years in the mobile industry, from 1994 to 2019. Worked for indies as well as the big networks, in their stores also in contact centres. I also hold a degree in telecoms engineering so I like to think I know what I’m talking about 😂0

I'm not sure 'should' is the point.
Why 'should' someone pay £2000 less for the same car than someone else?
Why 'should' someone pay £50 less for a camera online than from the same company's shop?
I've largely separated out my phone purchases from my sim/ calls / data charges recently. I'm running 4 mobile contracts and phones for about the same price overall that many people pay for a single top-end contract and phone.
I'd turn the question around; "Why should they pay 5 times what I'm paying for their mobile?"
I'd suggest lack of knowledge and lack of willingness to do the legwork as the main reasons.0
