Good news! I have received an email today from the land owners saying that they have instructed UKPC to cancel the charge. They added that immortal phrase "on this occasion", which I have to say really winds me up! However, right decision so I can't grumble.
I don't know how to add my success to the relevant thread but will find a way, and include copies of my email and their response.

You could respond to the landowner, thank them for their intervention and remind them that you have decided not to sue them and UKPC under the Equality Act 2010 - on this occasion.
