Whenever GA hid the issue of his niece being abused by his brother, this revelation didn't hurt him politically in the slightest.

Oh I think it did. You should see him being interviewed on RTE. They're not as wishy-washy with their questions as BBCNI or UTV.

He does come across as very warm, caring and charismatic on TV as does MMG. Look how unappealing the Unionists are in general.

I think he comes across as sleekit, as does MMG. That's probably because I'll never forgive either of them for what they did to this wee country. There's not a politician I see on TV I could trust because I know their agendae. I hearken back to the days of Big House Unionism which IRK destroyed almost single handedly. Guys like O'Neil thrived on doing their duty. It's a pity the only O'Neillite party is Alliance. I can't trust them either because they too are too focused on religion, borne out by David Ford's performance on Nolan last night.

Did Ford go on about religion?
  • The funny thing is, the whole Concept Of NI21 was actually quite good, A Non-denominational party to be based on Politics, not religion.... Just a shame it was two Looneies behind it !!!

Not in an evangelical way but you could sense he was playing to the religious vote.

Exactly - the right concept run by a pair of loonies, who are both unionists. Makes one wonder. How many voted for them when they were unionist candidates before NI21?

Oh Glyn..........Come On...... Remember, You're in Northern Ireland.... You don't vote for the Candidate, you vote for the Party.... You Know....... To keep the Other Lot out !!! Why do you think there are so many completely useless Councillors and MLA's...... Sod all to do with their ability !!! Some parties could put a bl00dy cat or a dog up or election in some areas and they'd get voted in !!

The sad thing is - you're absolutely right. Mind you, a bit of charisma didn't do the Big Man any harm. Not that I ever voted for him. Far too radical for me. I gather he had a sizeable RC vote though because he was such a good constituency MP and MEP. Gracious to all and got things done, especially for farmers.
