Can you speak it?
On the first point, I do remember paying money, but it could have been part funded (no idea if the funding would have come from HMG or CCMS though, sort of why I was hoping you would know)
On the second point, I do speak it, but nowhere near as well as I used to. Family and friends aren't much good so I find it hard to practice.0 -

Well NI22. Seems your illustrious leader has form again. So hiding the fact his niece was abused wasn't bad enough... but seems she wasn't the only one he knew about.... How many more.??? I suppose he's just taking his lead from your precious "church"!!!!
I think this is a serious dent in the SF strategy of having MMG control the north and GA taking over in the south. IF GA isn't seen as the statesman they've been (oddly) trying to present him as then their plan of overtaking Fianna Fail is doomed.
Overall I thin k their plan was a good one and they've stuck to it. The problem seems to be a lack of flexibility. They outlined the strategy to senior party members and the whips are keeping everyone toeing the party line - and trust me their whips are good at it. They didn't take into account the fact that matters of truth would condemn them because they seemed to be getting away with it when they came up with the plan.
As time marches on more and more of the stuff they're desperately trying to keep hidden about the RA (and their internal affairs) is going to come to the public attention and people will be shocked. In the good old bad old days we weren't shocked because shocking things were happening every day. They're not anymore and the new generation of voters is more easily disgusted by revelations of past outrages.
So much for Marxist/Leninism eh? It kept the RUC out of West Belfast but it won't make GA Taoiseach anytime soon.0 -
I personally don't think this will do GA any harm at all.0

That's quite disturbing, however as usual nothing will come from it. Adams like others currently running NI or indeed the ROI as he is now have done much much worse than this.
Yeah, but you see when it comes to shootings, bombings, etc. etc. etc. they can always blame "the war" against "the Brits"...... BUT when it comes to child sexual abuse........ Can't blame that on anything other than being a pea-doagh-file..... !!! True Scummers !! Just the type of people you want in power !!!!0 -

Whenever GA hid the issue of his niece being abused by his brother, this revelation didn't hurt him politically in the slightest.0 -

Electorally though his performances have been just as good.0 -

He does come across as very warm, caring and charismatic on TV as does MMG. Look how unappealing the Unionists are in general.0
