By the way you owe me a new keyboard and screen. I laughed so hard I sprayed everywhere.0 -
Maybe they would think to target their own elected officials. After all they are forcing yet more cuts upon us, simply by their failure to do their jobs! Alas, people making public statements are rarely able to see the bigger picture.Always overestimating...0

I think the people who put up these statements are a lot more politically aware than very many in NI. They are making a political point in a peaceful manner and I find it quite refreshing that some people in NI can still do such a thing.0

Same old, same old in my opinion. NI politics seem to be based on opposing things rather suggesting solutions, just another example of the same.0

Anyone have any data to show comparisons on taxation and welfare payments between NI and ROI?John0

let's hear a few suggestions
Yep. The best one would be for all nationalist parties to renounce their ambition to a 32 county state, which is what the unionists are afraid of. Remove that obstacle and all that's left is the governance of the 6 county state which I'm quite sure Stormont would be able to do a great job of.0 -

I've no data but refreshing myself through reading a couple of articles online there I'm heartened to note their social welfare system is a lot better than you'd think. Better ion some areas than ours. They pay more tax than us of course, have done since breaking away from sterling.
One of the biggest issues I've noted recently is that at least 40% of the population have to pay for medical care, including about 60 Euro a pop to visit a GP.
All in all I'd say there's a reasonably parity, it's just the way it's split which makes some areas look better than ours and some worse.
Then again we exist on a subvention from the treasury, as we're not self sustaining, and that is a major concern for anyone thinking of a 32 county state.0 -

Sorry but there is not going to be a 32 county state .The republic dont want us and they cant afford us ."Do not regret growing older, it's a privilege denied to many"0
