How to save money on my TV/Telephone/BB Package please

Hello

I would like some advice please

My wife and i never use our landline , and feel its money wasted , we currently have infinity with BT and the landline , along with BT Vision £5 a month

We love to watch BT Sport

We have had the email with a price increase from BT and intend to use this as a chance to relook at what we have , what we would like is :

Keep BT broadband
CANCEL BT LL and TV

Get SKY TV ONLY

Keep BT Sport and Catch UP TV etc

Is this possible and if so can a kind soul talk me through it?

Thanks

Who do you intend to buy your land-line / line rental from .
You need a line for the BB .
Virgin Media in your area ??

Who else and at what cost will you be able to watch BT Sport is the key .

Do you not lose BT internet if you cancel the landline ?

We canceled our landline it's a complete waste of money, every night we use our three UK hotshot and connect the smart TV to it and watch loads of Netflix etc.

Our mobile tarriff offer full unlimited broadband including tethering so it hasn't effected us at all only saved us money each month, also our mobile Internet is faster than the landline was.

If we could get fibre broadband installed here then we would, rite now we get really slow adsl which isn't worth £35 a month including line rental.

Maybe look into a good mobile tarriff that allows tethering and connect everthing to a hotspot.

We do have sky and only yesterday after a year we called to say we were leaving, we were paying £13 a month it was a half price deal for one year. When I called I said sorry I can't afford it, they offered me a years subscription for £22 when it should have been £36
You'll get sky half price just tell them you had a friend that had that offer and they should offer the same deal, we just haggled with them at first and each year we will do the same

Hmmm , what a numpty i am...i didnt realise you had to have the LL to have the BB , sorry.....

It`s difficult to see what to do for the best really , back to the drawing board...

Cancelling the TV only then getting SKY is obviously not the way to go cost wise so i think maybe just have to suck up the increase from BT , trying to tether etc sounds a bit complicated for me

It is still worth speaking to BT retentions team to see if there are any offers.

    Call them on 0800 800 030 option 1.

Tell them your unhappy with the price increases and are aware you can leave without charge but are willing to stay if the costs can be reduced.

Tethering is easy, if you have a good data package with your contract all you do is

Go to your phone settings, turn on mobile hotspot and that's it, you have turned your phone into a modem. As we speak I have three devices hooked to my hotspot, my son's upstairs watching curious george on Netflix and I'm downstairs connected to Netflix on the tv watching son's of anarchy my husband is also on the nexus 7 surfing the Internet - despite all this Netflix is running on two tvs playing in 720p high definition.

I probably use about 20gb a day streaming Netflix on two tvs at the same time and have done for months now with no issues.

We are saving £370 a year not having bt, sky TV can be had got £13 a month the first year. If you get sky TV and sky broadband plus sky line rental they will give u a great deal but you need to phone and ask for it don't just buy it online.

You don't need line rental if you can get virgin media fibre broadband, but i find vm more expensive than sky

You do need a Virgin landline, unfortunately, if you have Virgin cable broadband tho :( [I keep trying to get rid of it but hasn't worked so far!]

If you're in London, there is a company advertising broadband with no landline at the moment.
